Welcome back. Glad to hear your MCS is not so severely delayed as you thought. The Aida should have docked this morning - those with booking #s will start to see their status as "discharged" on the WW site later this evening and tomorrow.

OUR SHIP IS IN!

Aida is docked in New Jersey as of this morning (yes, folks, it's not New York--the Statue of Liberty's in New Jersey too)!!

W&W's Cargo Tracking page lists "Max" as "Discharged" 06/08/2002 at 08:07--Tuesday, August 6th, at 8:07 am.

I hope he behaved himself en route and that he got an honorable discharge.

Well the saga of the Aida and Isolde is nearly over for you all. I'm still fascinated to "have a feel" for the end of this particular voyage. Couldn't manage a flight over to sniff out some good photos...so I've made do with these

Apparently, Aida and Isolde both "discharged" your MINIs at NEAT...the North East AutoMarine Terminal, New Jersey..close to the Bayonne Bridge . The BMW VPC backs onto it ...so they are virtually one and the same. I've posted a map and a photo that just shows it at the top right (though there is a much better arial shot on the TerraServer site which isn't copyable). Good luck every body with your new MINI's

i wish !!!!!!!!!,, some of the people have gotten delivery dates of august 16 but i can't find anything in the lounge for mine,, i am in indianapolis so it is probably a 2 day truck trip from the vehicle processing center, WW had me unloaded august 6 and delivered on august 7

followed a transporter into the indianapolis mini dealer today , he had 3 S's on it vin # td52967 was on the aida,, td54965 on the aida,, td55670 in the isolde,, driver said there was another truck coming behind him , but didn't have time to wait around,, two of these were both made after the one i am waiting on ,, sooooo maybe mine will show up tomorrow,, ohhhh pleeeeeeeease !!!!!!!!!!

WOW, I just found this thread thanks to Jason(jlivingood). I'm in Canada so we cannot find out our VIN# until our cars are pretty much here. So I just found out today that MY MINI was on the AIDA for this trip! I'm convinced that the pic of the Red Cooper going into the back of the ship is mine!! In a way I'm glad I didn't know my MINI was on the Aida for that trip because I would have been having a fit about those heavy winds that showed over the Grand Banks when the Aida left port in Southhampton Thanks eBrit for all the Great PICS. I'm in your debt! I should be driving my MINI by the middle of this coming week!!! Woo HOO!!! Thanks again all!!!

Good fortune still smiles on me. Dealer received my car this morning and had it ready for me this afternoon! Obviously took sympathy on me--I've been showing up at the dealership every afternoon since MINIUSA told me my car was loaded on a truck on Wed.

Blessings on Bill and John of MINI of Sterling (Virginia USA) for not causing me to wait any longer than absolutely necessary.

Put about 75 miles on it before collapsing from exhaustion after the adrenalin rush of getting my baby. And I've got the whole weekend ahead of me. Wheeee!

Delivery on Monday! And a newspaper story

Max arrived at our Princeton, NJ dealer two days ago (August 15) and we go to pick him up the day after tomorrow: August 19. This is 14 weeks after we ordered him. Not bad, considering that 4 of those weeks were because our dealer couldn't order the first month as his allocation was already taken by earlier customers. (He sends in orders at the end of each month).

We couldn't resist a visit to Max today, though, just to see how he's doing in the dealer's lot…

As it turned out, there was a reporter from our local paper at the dealership, who interviewed us in detail and took our picture in front of Max. I'll post the story if it gets published.

I was at my dealer this morning wrapping up paperwork and such. I'll be driving my MINI by the 22nd!!! I could have had it on the 21st if I wanted to rush them but if figured I've waited this long 1 more days not going to kill me! I ordered mine in April, I could have had it in July but I decided to wait a bit longer to have a better downpayment. Everyday since that decision I have questioned my sanity! My car was in Halifax on the 3rd of Aug. according to the W&W tracing site. So the trip by rail from Halifax to Oakville was more than twice as long as the trip from Southhampton to Halifax! Who said the rail system was fast? All I can say is I'm glad the wait will soon be coming to an end and I will soon be able to Motor!!!!!!
