Hey everybody! After coming in from my business trip on Friday, I expected that my MINI would be at the dealer or close by. But, as my luck would have it, there was no change and it looked like I was still on the dock. My dealer (Crown MINI in Richmond) called the dock to find out what was going on. I talked to the dealer late yesterday afternoon and they gave me the same bottleneck story. I was terribly frustrated and almost bought an S they had sitting on the lot. I decided to call ASKMINI to see what their story was, and low and behold, my MINI had cleared the VPC and was loaded on the truck!!! It should be in Richmond tomorrow and I should be able to pick it up by Friday afternoon or at the latest, on Saturday!!! I can't believe that it's almost here and my wait is almost over. I'll keep you all posted because after all we've been through, I won't believe it until I'm sitting my butt behind the wheel.

Same here. Arrived at dealer (Peabody, MA) Tuesday late in the day
Only hitch is they say they can't release it until the "certificate of origin" arrives. Also, AAA won't cut a check until they have all info. and dealer won't release info. to Insurance Co. and AAA Financing until the certificate of origin is in their hands. Naturally this is Labor Day weekend coming up so delivery could be put of til next Tues.
I wonder if I can just write a check for it and then have AAA cut the check to me?
Congrats to all those who have endured this long (bumped from three vessels, in UK port 29 days, in US port 14 days, etc.)

Hi all...

We are finally seeing some good activity!! My MINI was shipped from VPC yesterday to the dealer in Hartford, Hopefully it's there now, but today is my sales reps day off... So I have no word on it.

Can anyone who has taken delivery explain the pickup process with regard to the MINI arriving from truck carrier and paper work that soon follows?? Title not shipped with cars, etc??

Would love to try and pick it up Saturday, but not sure it can be prepped or "paper worked" in time...

My dealer e-mailed me this morning to say that my car is in. I am picking it up at 9:00 am tomorrow.
I can’t beleive it is finally here. I don’t think that I will really beleive it exists until I can touch it.

I hope all the other folks who’s cars came over on the Hudson Leader will see their babies soon.

That's great!! I was told last night that there are only three of us on that truck. The dealer said that we were extremely fortunate since the bottleneck at the dock is so bad.

After seeing my status change yesterday from "en route" to "at the distribution center", and my estimated delivery date changed from 8/21 to 8/30 I began to think it just might be here for the long weekend, and then it happened about 1 o'clock....the phone rang and it was my sales rep saying my car was in and when would I like to pick it up !!!

Tomorrow at 2:30 is the appointed time

Try as you might you won't wipe this smile off my face,
I hope others who have waited on this thread get "the call" soon !

Picked up the car yesterday. It was a great experience. Everyone at Baron was efficient, courteous and friendly. I has some schedule changes and ended up showing up a few hours early and they rolled with the changes and got me processed through without a hitch or any grousing.

I managed to by an extra $350 worth of extras, including 13 baseball caps. The car is great. I had a super ride home avoiding the interstates to meet the break-in requirements. I can't wait until the 1200 miles are over so I can open it up a little.

To those still waiting, the pain of the wait fades quickly once you get behind the wheel.

You sound like one happy camper. It's good to know that Baron came through as one would expect and hope.

Were you able to have the various "comfort features" programmed (remote window/roof opening, etc.)? If so, was that done at delivery, or was it done in advance?

The other thread was closed and I couldn't reply. My car is still in the VPC and probably won't be shipped until next week. My complaint to BMW of NA seemed to work, I got a call from headquarters in NJ this afternoon offering to reroute another car from another dealer if I wanted. I told them just to get the one I ordered out of the bottleneck in NJ. Good luck with yours and let me know how it went with the dealer and how you like the car.

We picked up our MINI Cooper today at Keeler and returned home with our "Baby" what a sweet ride....can't wait until the breakin is over. As it is the traffic behind is gone after the cloverleaf, and the MINI isn't event trying hard...what a blast ! Going to throw some pics into the gallery of the pickup and few vanity shots after.

That wasn't done. I think they were having equipment problems, or maybe my early arrival caused a problem. We are going to take care of that next time I am in KC.
