Well, now it is official. I missed both the Aida and the Isolde. My car arrived at the dock back on the 17th and I am now officially unhappy. This sucks.

I'm right there with you. You've been at the dock for two days longer than I have, and I know of a bunch of cars that arrived after ours that are now happily floating along.

Yep, my roof is white. I like the black roofs really well, but here in the south, it gets hot as hades with a black roof.But thanks anyway!

Everybody that suspects they may be on the Hudson Leader can join the club. It looks like we have plenty of room!!

Well, mine has been sitting at the docks since July 8th. Keeps getting booked then "removed". I fear they have lost it.
Email I recieved from them today said:
"Good afternoon,
with regard to your inquiry we have been advised by BMW to no longer provide information regarding the shipments of Minis. BMW have stated that all future inquiries are to be dealt with by logging onto www.bmwna.com or by contacting your local BMW dealership.

sorry we cannot be of further assistance

best regards"

I really don't blame them. I'm sure they are overwhelmed by reactionary people like me. On the other hand if they had shipped vehicles on a first in first out manner as is their policy they wouldn't be inundated with grief would they?

*(actually they are wrong about bmwna it should be www.bmwusa.com I'm surprised they have been told to direct us to bmw and not mini. Maybe he was just giving me lip service)

Dang, it really has been awful for you. I'm complaining and you're still 11 days ahead of me. I got the same email and I wrote back telling them that there was no website, that BMW had given mis-information. They wrote back giving www.bmwusa.com as the correct site. I wrote MINIUSA through the owner's lounge as well, but I haven't gotten anything from them yet. Let's all just hang in there, and maybe we'll all be on the Hudson Leader - At least I know the correct pronuciation for that ship!!

I wouldn't be surprised if my car was parked right next to Pamlico's at the dock, I think we've been tracking pretty close through the entire process.
I've abandoned 2 ships (and 2 threads) so far, and I don't think my MINI or I want to get wet again. If the car does make it stateside someday, we'll probably have to go to therapy if I ever want to take it near any large bodies of water...

I called MINI USA, not really expecting any results, but still seeing if I could escalate the call and ensure getting loaded on the next ship. They suggested I call the dealer, which I thought was ludicrous because I'm sure they are not the ones that hired the shipping company. Then he had the stones to tell me it was not my car, it was the dealers since they had not signed it over to me yet. This really ****ed me off because I have had money down for nearly a year and been obsessed with the car for months. To the dealer it is just another car coming in and going out. I placed a call to my dealer, also not expecting any results.

Thanks for letting me vent. I am not sure if this site is keeping me sane or making me crazy.

I think we need a new Crazy man smiley.

If you look very closely at the pictures eBrit posted in the Aida thread you can see 2 cars way off in the corner of the parking structure, all by themselves, covered with seagull poop and dust. Those are our cars, Nowhere.

I’m there with you guys. My MINI has been at the port since 7/08 and has missed the Takasago and the Aida. I got the message from the contact at WW this morning saying that he was no longer able to give me any updates. I also called MINI and was told to call my dealer. The giggly girl at the dealership
said “just be glad you didn’t order an S”. What kind of a response is that.

I can’t believe MINI seems so relaxed about these problems. I would think that they would want their money. Seem to me they are encouraging a lot of bad feelings toward the company by be so nonchalant.

I must say that I agree with Daft (I'm feeling a bit that way myself these days!). It's really no way to run a international business, but what do I know. I just know that my estimation of BMW has drop a few notches over the past couple of days because of the attitude.

Hey now, fellow motorists... We are all in the same boat, or not - this time let's hope its the Hudson Leader! We missed Aida, then Isolde, but we all need to take a couple of big deep breaths and chill for a bit .

I admit it seems very odd how the WWL ships are loaded (its not a queue with FIFO, its like a stack with LIFO), but remember, we did not hire them and they do not answer to us. We are third party to them. They answer to BMW. The fact that they have responded to individuals in the past is quite remarkable and highly commendable. It shows they were trying to make amends.

It's probably a good thing that eBrit is on vacation now and cannot provide pictures of the docks - its just makes us more crazed to see them! Nice context though, eh?

I want my MINI just as much as everyone else (hehe, check out my website!), but I'm trying not to get crazy with it. We are all moving along the path towards the complete motoring experience - some slower or faster than the others... Patience is the first true test of the adventure.

I second the sentiment. What a long series of bumps its been. Takasago....Aida...Isolde...and finally a good American name the Hudson Leader. It feels so good to finally be "booked" I sincerely hope no one has to have their MINI sit at the docks 3-1/2 weeks like I did.
