Ok, I'm starting to get a bit concerned now. My MINI has been at the dock at Port Hueneme for eight days now. Not the VPC, the dock. After following others trials and tribulations I was prepared to have trouble getting a ship out of the UK and/or getting stuck at the VPC, but I wasn't expecting the whole process to come to a screeching a halt at the port. I realize I may be climbing up the walls prematurely and this may be perfectly normal, but obviously I have no standard to judge by. How long did other people's MINIs stay at the port in the US before going on to the VPC? Did anyone else's take this long?

My MCS was unloaded on 7/21 and did not make it from the dock to the VPC until the 30th. That was the New York/New Jersey port.
I'm still waiting for it to get to the dealer this week.
I'll probably have to call them today if I don't hear from them first. Every time the phone rings at my desk I get hopeful. I'm sure not getting much work done this week. I've even put off scheduling appointments just in case I have to take off to get my baby.

Cleared VPC 7/30

Shipped out 7/31

Arrived at dealer 8/1

Picked up by me 8/5

Such restraint, I would have probably been posting this the third day on the docks.

I spoke with my dealer in Irvine and he said most of their cars are through VPC and in their hands within a week of getting off the ship. Most.

My car was at the dock for a total of about 3 days. I thought it would take alot longer but it didnt thank god.

Well Ricardo and SJCzar seems to have had my lucky number. Nine days and it is finally at the VPC! I feel much better now. Of course, I have a whole new waiting period to start now, but at least there is some progress. They said the car should go to the dealer on Thursday, but that was only a very tentative estimate.

Are already in possesion of your MINI??? I hope so. I've noticed this thread has been quiet for a few days, I really hope because it is due to the fact that you are too busy driving your MINI.

Still no car, but I'm getting closer. I'm picking it up from the dealer on Thursday!

, it sat on the docks in England for a week and then gets to NJ and sits on the dock for 4 days so far (( does anyone know if the distibution center works all weekend long ? or if they run 24 hours a day ? ))

can you tell how bad I want my car !!

I doubt cars are processed into the center on weekends because Customs doesn't work then. (or at least that was what MINIUSA told me)

I just checked the Wallenius site it says my car was Discharged 08/13 1200 Delivered from 08/16 800
So can I assume it was delivered to the VDC?

Probably, the WW site never showed mine as delivered so I'm not sure. Check the Owner's Lounge or give MINIUSA a call.

My car has been sitting on the dock for a full week now. The problem is not so much the length of time, but the unfairness of the process along the way. MINI has made the mistake of letting enough information out to let people see just how unfair and unorganized the process is. In addition to that, they provide a customer service phone line that can provide very little additional information and no means to escalate problems and intervene to make the delivery process more equitable. End Rant!
