I agree the WW Schedule is very thin for the rest of August. But perhaps not suprising given that in the last fortnight we've seen at least five or six (Aida, Isolde, Fidelio, Atlantic Leader, Tanabata and Don Juan?) sail for USA laden to the gunalls with new MINI's. That must have been in excess of 2500 vehicles! WOW!
I can confirm that the WW MINI Car Park at Southampton is nearly empty. I reckon no more than 200 cars as of Saturday. It looks as if they've caught up at last
No photos from me for a bit ...I'm off to France, while MINI try and find some S-spokes to build my MCS with!...it should have started production build today...but alas..
I suspect that if you've got a CT-bound car, you'll be disembarked from the NY port. I doubt they'll send a car carrier to pick up your car in SC if it's the only one.
The ship is just one small part of the whole logistics nightmare. You're more dependent on ground transportation at the ports and to the dealerships. Timing is everything. Some people have reported waits of 2 months at port. UGH!
I'm calling right now to see what status my MINI is holding. It hit 150 on 8/6, but the phone rep said that it should have been built by now!
PS/B MCS, bonnet stripes, everything but the satnav, 17" S-Lites
OK jtar, I got you. But I hardly think mine is the only car bound for NE USA that could be on that boat. Though I think it would enjoy its own transport if it were!
If it can't make the TAMPA or then next boat to Baltimore, then i will be happy to wait 4 or 5 days for a NY bound that might just equal an earlier delivery anyway.
After silently lurking on MINI2 for over a year, I'd like to dedicate this virgin post to all of you who help to make this the coolest website imaginable (take a bow - you know who you are).
I'm happy to report a production date of 8/16 for a DS/DS MCS with Sport and Premium packages (minus sunroof) black leather and 17" S-lites. From what I've read, assembly takes 5 days. Is it conceivable that my long-awaited MCS will make it on the Tristan for Sept. 15 arrival in southern California (Port Hueneme)? Thanks in advance for any insights.
From what I've heard via ASKMINI, the production date is a week (33 for us). Plan on the car starting before that date, and berhaps finishing a little after (if not also before). For instance, the 16th may actually mark the end of production for your car, however, the next Monday and Tuesday might just be spent on body/paint work, and final wiring (which apparently do not count as production). It all winds up being extra vague. Good news is that orders thinned out for august because the 03 colour choices were just around the corner. Maybe we will be seeing faster production.
It is likely your car will be on the Tristan. Run your VIN through the WW Cargo ID.
Thanks for the info, GMINI! I hope you're right about faster production. I also hope that an end of the model year production means that the glitches have been ironed out so we can enjoy nothing but smooth motoring in our MCSs.
You were right GMINI! I was just informed by ASKMINI that my Cooper S, with a posted production date of 8/16 has already completed production (status 155) three days early. Perhaps yours is also built. Yippee!!!
Cargo tracking on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website indicates my vehicle as "Received at Terminal" (MINI's status 193 - Arrived at Port of Exit) and booked for a ride on the Tristan to arrive in Port Hueneme, CA on 9/15. What is cool about this is that the car arrived at the Southampton port on 8/16, which was my "scheduled for production" date. It would appear that things are moving along nicely!
My car just got finished today, nettless1, so much luck there.
Every time I hit WW cargo ID with my last seven VIN characters it comes up with no go. Maybe next week they will have sorted the paperwork and I will find my car to be traveling with yours...
Sure would be nice just to know.
I'm still scheduled for production as far as ol is displaying. What the heck?
I've been monitoring the build progress of my chili red/white MSC from the owner's lounge but i knew nothing about the shipping company.
Piecing together your posts i found the WW website and searched for my VIN (last 7 digits). My car is on the Tanabata. Bound for Charleston, SC; arriving wednesday (the 21st). My production date was Aug 2. On Aug 3 the status changed to waiting for transport. On Aug 14th the status changed to en route, but now I see that it had already sailed on the 8th.
I bought my car from Roadshow MINI in Memphis (to avoid a large surcharge here in Milwaukee); so that's where its headed.
From the miniusa site I got the idea that they all went to a common distribution center in Jersey or somewhere. Is that not the case?
Motor on!
p.s. Glad to be here!

My booking number reveals data for a car with a different VIN than mine. My VIN reveals the booking number, that it's on board, but yes, my booking number when entered refers to a list of updated for another VIN!!!!
