Offline | ok, i'm in line for a 2003 MCS, and have an estimated production date in the owner's lounge. my question for those who have already been through the full cycle--how good is the estimated production date? should i expect it to slip, or will the real date be pretty close to that date? i'm trying to manage my obsession/expectations while i wait for my MCS! thanks! ![]() |

Offline | Igors dealer said it would arrive early (Cooper). Igors dealer then couldn't get hold of cooper, so said it would be late. Car arrived same time as dealers original estimate ![]() The Bells The Bells |

Offline | Until you get a VIN number it could float significantly based on availability of ordered features. Once the VIN is assigned (normally about 2 weeks before production date) it should be pretty close. Cooper S - Chili Red w/Black The road goes on forever and the party never ends. |

Offline | Once everything gets firmed up with a VIN. Your production date is usually the end of the week your MINI is to be built. I followed everything closely and there were a bunch of us scheduled for Friday, 7/26/02. Most of our MINIs were done done earlier in the week...and most of us made the Hudson Leader which sailed on 8/2 Proud owner: MCS LY/W, Premium, Sports, Black Panther Leather |

Offline | my prod date only changed once, a week or so after first getting it, from 8/2 to 8/9. it was accurate as my MINI was built that week. i havent seen too many complaints here about prod dates not being met, i guess that would imply a pretty shoddy production process at the plant! more about getting stuck at the port of exit or VPC ![]() |

Offline | thanks to all for the speedy replies. my estimated production date is 10/11. I'm hopeful that date will hold and I'll have the keys by Thanksgiving... oh, my mcs is pure silver, black top, premium, sunroof, dcs. |
