The one thing I noticed from other peoples posts regarding "order to pick-up" time is that that those truckers haul *ss. They move those MINIs half way across the county in just under 2 days.

Oxford to Southampton is not THAT far - however, the roads a quite different to over here and there are some areas (M4/A34 junction, M3/A34 junction) which can be quite bad.

Anyway - haul ass away - get my Mini there quicker (just be wery, wery, cawefull).

Monica, are you only booked on the Jingu Maru? I was booked on Aug 15, received at the port Sep 5, and loaded on Sep 7. I think they book them well in advance. If you are not loaded, you are not arriving in NY on the 17th...

Hoping that I am not the bearer of bad news...

Sorry Wrong choice of words

WW says I was loaded onto the Jingu Maru on 9/07 but as of 9/09 MINIUSA said I was on a train (truck?) on the way to the dock.

Honestly I think MINI was wrong. Actually I think MINI was wrong in hiring the women I spoke to. I will remember her if she ever answers my call again, she was that bad.

First time poster here.

I was very patient about the wait until I got my VIN and started reading this thread. Now I am obsessed!

Anyway I notice all of the VIN tracking numbers on this thread start with TD while mine starts with TC (TC38851). What does this mean? Cooper instead of MCS?

I have been trying to track the progress on the WW website, but I am not getting any info. I called MINI and I was status 182 earlier today. Shouldn't I be getting some info at this point?

I feel like I am missing out on all the fun until I get booked on a ship. Don't want to get left behind, I enjoy this thread.

I don't know for sure but I'm sure the VIN number difference is due to the model difference.

Matt B, fear not w WW tracking. I saw mine booked on the Aida (missed last weekends boats) a day after it went to 160. But it took forever, so keep trying.

Scan some old tracking threads(Aug are good) if want to see time frames of others.

TC=MC and TD= MCS.
Someone posted on the 9/13 thread something about decoding your vin#.

Just got off the phone with Mini USA... he seemed to think that the 'E' stands for the plant that the car is manufactured in. I asked him if there is more than one plant and he said he thinks there is but couldn't give more info. Hmmmmm. Very interesting.

Here is the evening position for Gustav. This will desolve before the JM gets to near Halifax Sunday but the ship will see some wet rough weather on the way.

FYI. Repeating: My OL thinks my car is still in production yet the VIN shows up on the ship tracking. I think the OL is broken.

'Cause its getting awfully rough on the Jingu Maru. Latest position at 6:00 this morning was 47.60 North 26.50 West..
wind speed 40 knots ...wave height between 30 and 40 feet

The irony is, I can tell you US folk exactly where your MINI is , but as to my own MCS (also built last week) I haven't a clue

. I currently don't know where it is, or when it will be delivered to the dealer. Neither does he...and they are a mere 2 hour drive from the factory

Us poor Brits...why do we put up with it (BMW ..are you reading this?...I hope so

)
