Offline | Yes-155 after 4 days @ 152. Right behind you guys... I don't think they go to Germany on a train, this is well documented as not true. ![]() Jet Black MCS Lapis leather 17s or 15s (winter) no DSC |

Offline | Booked on the Jinga Maru!! I called MINI the guy said I was at a status 190 IS there a status 190? The guy did seem new and a bit underinformed. Anyway checked on the Wallenius site and had no problems with that. Crazy question, but would I be able to see the ship when it arrives? If yes does anyone know where I should be positioned? Why is my car on a train for Germany? Is that to avoid a bottleneck in South Hampton? I know I'm not the only one. This is my 3rd edit in 20 minutes but if my car is on it's way to Germany RIGHT NOW it is NOT sailing on the JINGU MARU since the JINGU MARU has already left Germany! I think I missed the JINGU MARU, I think a few of us have missed the JINGU MARU.Last edited by monica : Sep 6th, 2002 at 02:36 PM. |

Offline | I don't seem to remember seeing in other threads cars being shipped to Canada and the U.S. via Germany I suppose it's possible, it would cut down on cars not making the boat in South Hampton. I wonder if anyone is being freighted to Belgium since that's the port inbetween Germany and South Hampton. Any else know anything? |

Offline | Don't worry, be happy I recall hearing this story before, without going back to do a search on it. The voice on the phone SAID the cars were going to Germany first, but in FACT, cars headed to North America get on the boat and come directly here. As you'd expect. The customer service clerks seem to be reading from a very old script -- or maybe they think "Germany" is the name of the port city. BRG/W MC -- Motoring since Oct 7 of 2002 |

Offline | Monica stands corrected. Good for everybody I called MINIUSA back and it took a while (boss went home early) the conclusion is the car DID NOT go to GERMANY! Yeah. She thought it went to Germany. You would think someone over at MINI to would have sent a MEMO to stop telling customers that the car went to Germany. No biggy, all is well. Thanks to the good folk at MINI2 ![]() |

Offline | Monica..et al Panic not! No English MINI's would DARE to be sent to Germany before they sail to you. They come 100 miles from Oxford to Southampton by car transporter via the A34 road. Then, they are stacked on the top deck of WW multi-storey car park (with Landrovers, etc, etc., on the lower decks) at the Southampton docks (see "Aida" thread photos),. Next they are loaded onto a WW ship at quay 34/35 (but others quays may be also pressed into service if more than one MINI ship is in at one time). Then your ship & MINI will be sailing on the "deep blue sea" to you. eBrit ![]() Last edited by eBrit : Sep 6th, 2002 at 06:28 PM. |

Offline | Sorry ezrally but I just tried with no luck. But remember most of the people on this thread that have been booked on the Jinga Maru (mine only showed up on WW today)you may still get booked on the Isolade which is leaving the same day and actually docks in NY a day earlier (9/16). Now lets just hope we ALL make one of them, because the next two ships leaving Southhampton for NY are not till next Sunday (9/15), and another round of MINIs will be done by 9/13. ![]() |

Offline | Finally got a VIN on the OL. Actually got it Tuesday over the phone. However, no options have shown up yet - grrr. Now the fun part really starts. I'll be in the UK in 2 weeks so I may try to go to the docks and see what's cooking (after I've been to the factory of course!) |

Offline | Status 194 - Loaded on the Jinga Maru. Anybody know how many MINIs are suposed to make the Jinga Maru and the Isolde respectively? Ezrally sorry no luck yet w/ your #'s on WW. Are you sure you they're right? OL shows "awaiting transport". The options box is STILL empty Does anyone know how easy it is to catch a shot of ships docking at VPC? You know minimal trespassing and not having to flash my "hoo-ha's" at anyone![]() |
