Question Owner's Lounge Vs. Wallenius Wilhelmsen - who's right?

OK...the Ownwer's Lounge still tells me my Red/Black Cooper S is awaiting transport. However, the WW cargo tracking site tells me my MCS arrived at Southampton on July 30 and was loaded on the TANABATA on August 7. The TANABATA left Southampton on August 8 and is schedule to dock in South Carolina (on its way to its new home in Oklahoma via Memphis) on August 21. So who's right? Is my car still at the Southampton dock basking in the beautiful British summer sun, or is it, as I am hoping, on the TANABATA bound for warmer climates? Any insights would be appreciated.

Talking WW is right!

Keep in mind that the info posted in the Owner's Lounge is several days out of date, so the cargo tracking info provided at the WW page (Along with the info provided over the phone by MINIUSA) is the most accurate, current and up to date status you can get

Our MINI is also loaded in the Tanabata and it appears to be our cars have been at sea for the past 7 days!.

As long as the WW site shows a Booking# and time/date loading confirmation for your car, then again, you have nothing to worry about. the car's are now somewhere in the North Atlantic making their way to Charleston, NC.

If everything continues to go smoothly (And believe me it has, you should see how many people have been bumped and gotten stuck at the Southhampton port), our cars should be arriving into NC exactly in a week from today.

I am actually more concerned about how things will go once the cars reach the port and are moved into the Distribution Center for final dealer delivery.

We are hoping to take delivery of our new MINI in about 3 to 4 weeks from today.

Let's be patient, is the best thing we can do, but I know is hard!!!

You're in good shape. The WW site gives much more up-to-date info than does the Owner's Lounge.

P.S. - I'm a bit surprised that an OU fan didn't go with red with a *white* top!

Can someone tell me more about this WW site? My Mini is "awaiting transport" in the owners lounge, and I'd like to better track it. I've heard of the site you are talking about, but I don't really know anything about it.
Thanks

Sooner red with a black top

Considered a white roof (I think it looks great) but I thought the sunroof worked better with a black roof. Also, I guessed that the majority of red MINIS would be ordered with white tops and I wanted mine to be different. At this point I would take just about any color combination....I just want my MINI!!!

This if from the FAQ on tracking your MINI through the Owner's Lounge
Quote:
NOTE: Many people have discovered that the MINI tracking data in the Owners' Lounge is updated very infrequently. For example you may learn outside sources (ie. the Wallenius Wilhelmsen website) that you MINI is actually on a ship heading to the US long before the Owners' Lounge acknowledges that fact.

Also check out the FAQ's (that little button right up there ^) for all kinds of info about tracking your MINI including what all the statuses mean.

Ive always found the WW site to be very accurate, but in the last week and a half, it seems that some info hasnt been updated.

My car landed on monday, yet the site says it is still loaded. I hope they drop it off at the right port!

Same thing with a mate whos car arrived over a week ago. The site says it is off the boat, but not yet delivered, which is strange as his dealer has had it for a week.

The problem is not the owners lounge, it's BMW updating the system when the cars on the boat or off the boat for that matter. My S is still showing on the water and it's at the VPC.

Lets face it. Information is power. Someone figured out the hard way how to follow their car and Paul made it easy for this info to get to the analog guys like myself by setting up this site.

I think that a lot of people have been following the progress of their cars a lot closer than people ever expected. I know that I did because I am impatient and it gave me some sort of fulfillment to see progress.

That being said the sheer increase in volume has to have put a strain on the resources. Previous threads have stated that people used to be able to call WW and find out the shipping status directly. Now they are being referred back to MINI. We used to be able to get through directly to the call line now we might get put on hold. The Owners lounge used to be timely now it is a little behind. I think the real statement that is being made is that the word is really getting out.

Owners Lounge

Finally...after being at sea for over a week, my status on the Owners Lounge website changed from "awaiting transport" to "en-route" with an expected delivery date of 8/29. Speaking of estimated delivery dates, what are the chances of my MCS actually being ready for pick-up on 8/29? Is it time for me to schedule my trip from Oklahoma to Memphis or does the collective experience and wisdom of this distinguished and highly educated MINI2 forum say that the delivery date on the Owners Lounge is completely bogus?

My delivery date is tomorrow. My MINI was released from the VPC for transport today. Don't think my dealer will be ready tomorrow. Maybe by Tuesday?

I'd wait until you make it through the VPC. I've heard tales of woe: MINI's sitting on the dock for days before they get to the VPC and many days in the VPC. It's pretty unpredictable. I'm one of the lucky ones. Dock to avail for transport in 3 days.

Do us West Coasters get an Estimated Delivery Date? My MINI gets off the boat in Port Huenme today after a 26 day boat ride from Oxford, yet still the OL shows no ETA.

Talking Whohoooo!!!

The Owner's Lounge tracking page was finally updated this morning to "In Route" (MINI is still aboard the Tanabata where it has been for the past 8 days) and the estimated delivery date now shows as 8/29/2002

Just returned from a week-long business trip on Sunday to see that my MCS not only docked on the 21st but made it to the VPC. Then today I get a message from MINIUSA answering a question I asked about two weeks ago...he not only answers my question but tells me that my car was loaded on a transporter on Sunday (8/25) and has already left the VPC in South Carolina bound for Memphis. From docking to transporter in 4 days!!!! It may not be a record but I bet it's pretty close. Planning to travel to Memphis from Oklahoma on Friday to meet the new Mrs. Will I see anyone from the MINI2 Forum at Roadshow MINI this Friday (8/30)?

MINI of the Hamptons

I am in Idaho, and I bought mine from them as well. I am shipping mine by truck to Boise. It is on the road as we speak. It looks like ours came over on the same shipment.
