Well, I thought it would never happen. I ordered in June, the 28th. I was told by the dealer that I would see my MINI in about 8 weeks, August 25 or so. At first, it seemed possible; my estimated build date was 8/2. But that wasn't for long. In the next 10 days, it moved to 8/9, then to 8/16, then to 8/23.

Then, I thought it would never get built. But, on 8/22 production was completed. It seems that they are trying to make up some time in the shipping that was lost in production. Amazingly, it made it to Southampton on 8/24 and was loaded onto the HUAL Triton. The boat left port on 8/25 with an ETA in New York of 9/3. Optimistically, I could see it as early as 9/10 and as late as 9/28. We'll see.

I was wondering whether anyone else's new MINI is on the boat with mine.

I was also surprised when I learned from the Wallenius site that it would be on this boat. They don't even own the boat. I guess they track any boat carrying MINi's. Who knows.

I'm on the Hual Triton with you. Destined for Halifax September 1st. I believe it takes 1 week to get from Halifax to Toronto by train so I could have my car around 9/9. It's been a long time coming. 6 months.

The next week or two are going to seem like for ever.
