Offline | Another 37th weeker I've been lurking but feel a need to bust out and say that my MINI is scheduled for production! I have a VIN and everything. Now, of course this was as I was going to make one S L I G H T modification (to anthracite) and now it's too late, but HEY, I'm not complaining in the least. A cheerful hello to the siblings out there. |

Offline | Excellent - I called them today and I'm still 150. They said it will probably move status early next week. Did get them to confirm all options and they are correct. That car had better show up 100% at the dealer or someone is going to be getting me some shiny R90's. I've read some of the horror stories here about this happening. |

Offline | Now some longer range planning Is this obsessive??? How long does it take to get from 9/13 onto a boat? Mine will deliver in NC. Does that place me through Charleston, SC? I can't believe there is any chance to make a 9/15 sailing on the Rigoletto. I don't see any later Charleston bound boats on the schedule. grrr Still at 150 Indi Blue MCS, Born Sep-13 Sport, Premium, Roof Rack |

Offline | I've been looking at the ship schedules too. Assuming worst case (car built on the afternoon of Friday the 13th), I think it'll still have a chance making the ship, as the factory is running 6.5 days a week, and there should be someone there on Saturday to take it to the port. The stevedores will have to be working on that Sunday (that's the day the ship departs), so there'll be someone to load cars onto the ship. In fact, if the stevedores are working like they have been in the past, using a LIFO queue (last in, first out), we should stand an even better chance of getting aboard the Rigoletto, as our cars will be the most recently arrived. It's possible. Just keep repeating that to yourself as a mantra. It's possible. I should get my sister to go down to the port (she lives in Charleston) and take a picture as the Rigoletto unloads. Offline | chiph If its any help, the Aida also sails for NJ that same day...but stops off at Halifax - so takes a few days longer. Between the two of them (Rigoletto & Aida) they are capable of taking easily upwards of a thousand MINI's. The stevedores work most Sundays Last time I saw the MINI Compound at WW (4 weeks ago)it was pretty near empty, so the backlog of recent months isn't nearly so bad. I might have a snoop on Sunday. If I do I'll give you an update. Whichever way it goes, "Good Luck"...I'm hoping for delivery of my MCS on the 13th eBrit PS Oh YES, there is a dearth of Stateside shots!!!! |

Offline | Oh...and chiph...don't be a pessimist .....just think...your MINI might be being built at 6pm tonight...that's just over 3 hours away After all you were bumped from Week 36, so you must be near the front of the production queue. In which case, it will be finished tomorrow It could even make the Jingu Maru or Isolde ![]() eBrit |

Offline | Thanks, eBrit. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. Can't help thinking back to the FAQ: sometimes it's better not to fret over the building/delivery process, and just wait for the wonderful call from the dealer. Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |

Offline | MINIMENC - Can't do it, sorry. Already made arrangements to go to the Vintage racing at VIR on October 20th. The owner's lounge now shows my VIN, so my baby should be born any day now! Saw my first MCS on the road Friday afternoon. Know anyone in North Raleigh (Litchford Road area) with an EB/W? MiniVA - Congratulations! Maybe we'll be on the same ship. Who are you ordered through? Offline | By coincidence.. Whilst looking to see if the Jingu Maru had filed an at sea observation, I spotted the Aida in the Western Approaches headed for Bremerhaven. She should just be about passing the Jingu Maru going the other way! After Bremerhaven she goes to Zeebrugge and then back to Southampton to take your 13/09 MINI's to the US eBrit ![]() |

Offline | Thanks for the pics, eBrit. I wish my car were among them, but she (he?) hasn't been born yet. MiniVA - I've been to Sterling a couple of times. At my last job we were hosted at Exodus, which is near the Dulles Town Center mall. Monica - No problem. You can post here too & drive traffic up in this thread if the Sept 9th one is getting too crowded for you! Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |
