Let's make some guesses as to why 2003 production dates have gotten all pushed around.....ME First...
There are actually more Changes & Improvments (that we have not yet been told about) being made to the cars prior to 2003 production getting under way.......(this will make it worth the wait, and the $125.00 price increase))
It does NOT make sense that 2002 production went like gangbusters the last weeks, and now things are slowing down, if there are minimal changes.
Just my first, of many wild ideas.......
Who is next with a good guess ?????
Or better yet, how about MINI Posting Here & telling us what is happening,,,,,Come on folks, Inquiring Mimes want to know.........
2004 Pepper White Copoper S on order :white:
2002 Pepper White/Black Cooper, 9800 miles :white:
1972 Gunmetal Innocenti Cooper 1300, miles unknown
Sorry to say mine is still 9/06 but that's because I'm kicking myself hard for my color choice (folded into friends and family). Murphy's Law I do believe it is.
Mine is still 8/11 AFAIK
I was disapointed to find out that the early 2003's (like mine) won't have the DVD Nav but the older CD Nav.
Maby this will change but I was told it wont.

Shortage of 17" S-spokes has delayed a huge wadge of August production on the Cooper S. Given that all the lovers of BRG, Indi Blue & Black were already set to create a September "bulge", that means TWO large and long waiting sets of orders need to be fulfilled in September. Everyone after that is likely to be drifting back. With luck, my baby is BEING BUILT AT THIS MOMENT. , but ordered in January and originally scheduled for an early August build
Good point about MINI posting here. They are so FACELESS aren't they. Perhaps I should say YOU...come on MINI, we know you read this site. Go and tell your Markeing Manager that he really is missing a trick by never having a human, customer focused face and talking to one of the most enthusiastic car communities that has ever existed. Want to build brand loyalty...then try TALKING TO US. We aren't aliens...on the other hand...perhaps the star of "The Martians have landed" MINI Ad IS the Marketing Manager!
Come on, come on, I DARE YOU, .. someone at MINI reply just to let us know that the whole outfit isn't entirely run by Kula Robots.
Mine was a week 36 build - 2003 model, and it's already been delivered to the dealer. Built and delivered within a week! I couldn't believe it when the dealer called me and said it had arrived, so I went down there straight away to take a look and take a couple of pictures.
It took me a second to realise that your MINI did'nt have to travel by boat. Congradulations Mine moved quickly through the "build" process as well and has been loaded on the JINGA MARU, we'll see how it goes from there
I was due 03/09/02, got bumped to 08/10/02 due to 17" wheelproblem 9but also found out that they had problems with supply of 1/2 leather seats and Xenon lights) now been confirmed for 30/09/02 and in production now.
The waiting is doing my head in!
But not long now...te he...
