Buzz is in Charleston...

I hope he's behaving.

I went on the Charleston Port Authority website today to see that the vessel finally came in today. When I called my dealer he said I should expect to take delivery on Friday the 27th or Saturday the 28th...crossing fingers for Friday, of course. My boss has even given me an okay to take the day off if it is Friday. Of course, I have to be in our Michigan office that weekend, but I still appreciate it.

Any news on yours? It was to be in New York on Monday, yes? UPDATE, please............

These are going to be 10 (9?) VERY long days.

Well it was supposed to be in NY on monday the 16th and it looks like it unloaded on Tuesday the 17th. Although its driving me crazy because on the WW site it still shows a status of Loaded on Vessel but doesnt show Discharged. It does show the COURAGE left NY and is on its way to Baltimore. I have to assume they left my MINI in NY. I feel some kind of relief that all the VINs that were loaded are still not updated to Discharged so maybe they just havent updated the computer.

My MA hasnt given me any solid information on Delivery to the Dealership. Whaaaaa.

I think i will call today just to do a quick check. I try my best not to bother them but I can't take it much longer.

Arrrrgggghhh. Oh well i guess I can wait a few more days.

Have you heard any more information on Buzz?

Please keep me posted..

I think this thread is near retirement...

and that is FANTASTIC news 'cause it means we are near the day we will have our cars.

YEAH (or is it yea, yay? You get the point).

It's almost hard to think of these cars as being tangible; we've been waiting for and writing about them for a while now.

I just got home, and of course the first thing I did was go on the Owner's Lounge to see if Buzz's status had changed yet, because as of this morning it still said "en route", even though I knew it was already on the way to the VDC. NOW it says "at distribution center" and when I view the order details it shows an estimated date of delivery as 7/23/07. I don't know if that means to the VDC or the dealer. My MA said that he thinks I should expect 7/27 or 7/28, but if that estimate means at dealer I am going to be one happy camper (and I don't even really enjoy camping...).
I'm going by the dealership tomorrow, so I may get more news about the EDA while there.

I know you've got to be as excited as a kid with a candy bar. Tuesday (Monday?) will be here in a flash. Have you mapped out the curviest roads away from your dealership for the trip home? There is a stretch of road here I have loved since I was young; part of it has this hill that when you're at the top of it it seems like you're going to drop off the earth. That's where I'm going.

This is your last weekend without your new MINI; tell your friends and family to start fighting for shotgun...

Buzz Is Here....

I just got off the phone with my MA. Buzz will be ready to pick-up TODAY. (okay, I think that just about describes the feeling).

I'm hoping the reason you haven't been posting is that you have been too busy in your new baby...

I will be doing the same (living in the car, I mean), but let's agree to posts some pics. in the next week or so, 'kay????

HAVE FUN, and yay for us!!!!!

End of the road

I can't believe we've finally made it through. Seems like a decade has passed by in a second, if that makes any sense at all.

The mountain trip must have been a blast. I spent all day yesterday running around, some of it for no reason except to drive. I LOVE driving this car. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do any serious mile damage till next month when I head down to Memphis with a couple of friends. Can't wait to get out on the open road, instead of the bumper-to-bumper driving I have to endure around here.

I hope you love yours as much as I do. It was SOOOO worth the wait! For me, it'll take a little while to get used to the admirers as I'm a little introverted; something tells me I'll have to get over that 'cause I spent quite a bit of time yesterday talking with people about it. I felt like the girl at the Starbucks drive-thru was holding my soy latte hostage she was so busy squeaking "how cute!".

Thanks for giving me someone to vent with during this time...

I'm so glad you finally got Buzz. I've been enjoying driving so much. I still havent named my MINI yet just because I can't come up with a name that fits. I keep referring to it as a she so I think it will end up with a girls name just I haven't come up with the right name as of yet.

I'm so glad you are finally enjoying Buzz. The wait was well worth it and I think I am appriciating it even more because of the wait. I didn't drive her today because I thought it might rain. I will be posting some pictures soon and I hope you do the same. Thank you also for being so nice and helpful during the wait.

Talk to you soon have to go out for a drive.

Wow, it's been an e x c i t i n g week.

I can't believe how much I love driving this car. My day trip to Michigan was great; though I had to go to a touch-free wash as soon as I got back. I can't believe how many bug's lives were sacrificed during that little trip. And since it's black and I have a touch of OCD... you see where I'm going with this. I have a feeling I'll be spending quite a bit of time at that car wash before winter hits. I don't have the patience to sit around at the dealer's waiting for them to do it... who has that kind of time?

I've always found it interesting how woman refer to their cars as male and men as female. Think it has something to do with a desire to control the opposite sex in any way we can?? I thought of a nickname for you, though even as a female I think it may be too cheesy. Gidg. From the Gidget movies, in case you're not familiar. Gidget is a hybrid of girl and midget, and since you refer to the car as female and it IS small... Gidg. Just a thought.
Ooooh, another hybrid word just came to me that might work as her nickname. Twix. Twenty-six, as in your production week. Okay, I'll stop now.

Have a great motoring day!
