ASK MINI has just confirmed week 26 for me and my anticipation just doubled. Anyone else feel like the next several weeks are going to seem longer than a Spielberg/Gibson production of War and Peace??

Week 26 also. I know my mini is in production now will call monday to see how far along it has gotten. I nkow the anticipation is getting to me also. I've been waiting since I placed my order on June 1.

Can't believe I'm online so late.... BUT, I finally got word on Friday, 29th, that Buzz (yes, I've already given him a nickname) was completed and is awaiting transport. Seems like I'm right on schedule, but of course I won't even begin to say so, because the moment I do untold delays will occur. Can't help thinking July 20th, however. Now the next few days (weeks?) will be spent constantly going to the shipper's website to see when it sails.

I think we are on the same schedule. I just noticed my status is at Awaiting Transport also. I called Ask Mini and they told me it was on a train heading for the port. He mentioned it would be around a month. My dealership is on the east coast near Washington DC. Maybe we will be on the same ship. I put in my vin number on the shipping companies website and it still isnt showing me anything yet.

A month would put us on the eight week schedule the SA's and ASK MINI like to use, but I really think we will have them sooner. I'm not sure if that is positive reinforcement or WISHFUL thinking, but I'm going with it. Everyone I have talked to in person has had theirs in six weeks, and since were both "east coast" it seems logical. I'd still be smiling if I found out it was eight, so no complaints.
It's funny, I work downtown Chicago, and I'm already "training" the parking attendant at my lot to call the car by it's nickname. I feel if he's willing to do that then he'll take better care with it once it's here. Wishful thinking again?
I have been putting my VIN in all morning on WW and nothing.... let me know the first time you get a booked status; I'll do the same if I see one first. THANKS.

I just tryed my VIN again and nothing...... I really can't wait to get this car and I am sure my friends are wishing i would get it because it is a very frequent topic with me. I think they want me to get the car as much or more as i want it. lol

I will keep you posted you do the same please. All this waiting is one way to make a summer really last a long time. That was the longest June I can ever remember.

Everyone who knows anything about me at all right now is VERY aware that I am awaiting the arrival of Buzz. I think at this point he has become my company's mascot. My boss has just returned from Italy and yesterday she had a day in London before flying home... was so tempted to ask her to put in a call to the factory, but didn't for fear of firing by insanity.
I spent my lunch break today on WW site to look at the lists of POTENTIAL vessels for the voyage; there are a lot of ports and A LOT of vessels. I've talked myself out of stalking each one in the hope that Buzz is on one and not yet listed. You said you're near DC; maybe you'll get lucky and your port will be Baltimore. Fingers crossed for you (they're already crossed for me, so no big- ).
Yes, June has been excruciatingly long, but think of how much fun August will be for us. I'm now thinking a trip to Memphis might be fun. I've got to stop. Okay, clearing off the desk and heading home in my very un-fun Altima.

Looked again this morning and still not getting anything when I type my VIN number on the ship tracking website. I'm hoping its already on a ship and I just dont know about it.

I just spoke with my SA (who's a Brit, ironically, which I love) and he said that my car arrived at Southampton on July 1st. It is not scheduled on a vessel yet, but he said that the only port it will arrive at is Charleston (I'm guessing he means all of the orders for his dealership arrive there). SOOOOO, I looked at the schedule from Southampton to Charleston and the options are: 1. leaving 7/3 on Otello, 2. leaving 7/7 on Courage or 3. leaving 7/13 on Integrity. There are other listings after that, but I refuse to believe it will take longer than that for it to get out. The SA also gave me the "4 week" once it leaves comment, so it looks like I'll be lucky to have it in early August. Ughhhhhhhhhhh.
If you call your SA you should be able to get the same info I did re: car's current status and arrival port. Let me know..... I'll still stalk the logistics site, as well.

The dealer wasnt able to give me any updated information at this time. Have you been able to get anything with your VIN number as far as the ship it will be on?

I'm not sure where to go to see when it is supposed to ship or it's destination date. I know its going to be going to New York, NY

If your vessel is Courage, the WW site says the departure date is 7/7. Yea for you! I'm guessing if Buzz were on Courage I would see a booking by now, but I'll keep looking ('cause apparently I'm a glutton for punishment). The site below may help you with tracking once it leaves port.

I was able to locate tracking information for the Courage thank you. It says it will leave the port on the 7th and arrive in NY on the 15th. I can't wait I hope you've recieved your booking number. The ship after leaving NY going to Baltimore, then onto Charleston. So maybe you will still be on the same ship. I hope so.

Okay, I know this may be insane, but as I still cannot see a booking, I was wondering if you would track your booking number (number can be found on the cargo status page). Supposedly, if you enter it into the booking number tracking it will give you a list of all VINs that are on the same shipment. If Buzz is there you will see it. I would GREATLY appreciate it, if you have a moment. I will PM/e-mail the VIN to you, if so.

I would gladly do that for you. Just send me the vin and i will check to see if it is on the list. I really hope yours shows up on the list. I know your going as crazy as me waiting on Buzz.

Almost immediately after I sent my VIN # to you, my SA called to tell me that Buzz was on a ship called Franconia (from K-Line transport, not WW) on July 5th, and is set to arrive in Charleston on July 17th. All GOOD news. The BAD news is that I cannot track it while enroute. So, unless there's a major shipping disaster reported on the evening news, I will have to assume that everything is going as planned.
Thank you so much for your help earlier. So, yours arrives the 15th in NY, NY and mine 7/17 in Charleston. The tick tocks are sort of a soothing sound today, now that I know Buzz isn't sitting at Southampton port.
I asume you will be tracking yours; can't wait to hear status reports.

the Courage was showing arrival in NY on the 15th but now has changed to the 16th. Have you heard and updates on the satus of Buzz?

It's getting closer but still a painful wait. To many variables. I'm hoping that there isn't any damage and it sails through the VDC.

Keep the finish line in mind and time will fly. This may be strange, but I think not being able to track the progress across the pond has kept me from going nuts. It took me five days before I sent an e-mail to my SA to ask about the progress; sadly, he hasn't responded yet so I have nothing to report. Just an assumption that everything is on schedule. I'm sure the same holds true for you.

I imagine all sorts of mini (no pun intended) adventures I can go on once the car arrives; not to mention road trips. My company has a location in Michigan, about an hour or so away from Chicago, and I can't wait to cruise on over there. Okay, that's a work thing and should not be considered enjoyable, I know, but I can't think of any trip I wouldn't want to take in a Mini. MY Mini.

In a couple of weeks we won't be able to remember how time seemed to stand still while we waited; we'll be too busy motoring and telling people, yes, it is as amazing to drive as it is to look at, but no, you can't drive. Keep the thought.
