How does it all work??

Ok, I ordered my MCS last week. I was told delivery would be around the last week in July (27th ish).

My dealer rang me today to confirm a few things and said that the car had been approved by production control and the build would have started.

I am just wondering what process the car will now go through, does it really take a month to build it and get it to a dealer?

It's probably me just getting excited, but is there a chance it might be earlier than the estimated date???

we have a massive back log of cars and the whole car takes a day and a bit to complete then youve got shipment and tests, blah blah! takes a long time.

possibly wont be early but you never know. dont forget the mini is one of the most individual cars and think about all the robots and people that have to put all those seperate things on the car. Theres only one official place the minis get made and there is only one line!

Ben, I'm guessing you didn't really mean the last week of July, as the fourth week of August starts tomorrow?

Ordered my Mini on Aug 31 - Called "Ask Mini" 1-866-275-6464 on Sept 6 and was told it was in the paint shop, called again just now 9/7 and was told its in the paint shop?? anyway,,, I also PM'd coopersooper and gave him my Vin number to see what if anything he can find... Nice forum here but over at NAM it is a lot mor active on posts... I read both forums,,,
