Anyone with 9/27 production date have a ship confirmation yet?

My Chili Red/White MCS had a 9/27 production date, and actually sailed on the Galaxy Leader on 9/26!

Must be all that clean living .

Assuming the longshoremen arent still locked out, it should arrive in California 10/21. I hear Panama is lovely this time of year .

Cheers.

9/27/02 build MCS Chili Red w/ everything but bun-warmer package and NAV unit.

Is it possible they just "had room" and there weren't too many MINIs at the carpark? Or did my dealer REALLY push my MINI along like he promised he would .

Well, as I posted before, my 9/27 car was confirmed code 155 (built!) on Friday. I haven't called 866-ask-mini again yet, but tonight I went to the WW site and punched in my VIN - they show my car booked on the JINGU MARU as of 9/30, and as of 10/1 (today) they show it RECEIVED AT TERMINAL! (8:37AM)

So I guess as of this monring my car is at the dock, probably sitting in that multi-level parking garage that eBrit showed us (See the thread called "AIDA Leaving September 15th" for some really cool pictures of the whole setup there)

From what I can gather from the shipping schedule, my car should hit US shores around the 16th. With any luck, I'm hoping I can go pick it up the 26th!!!

This is cool!

dcmini - as far as I can tell, the don juan set sail yesterday (9/30) - looks like my car missed that boat by one day...

This weekend is a big one for exporting MINI's to the States. No less than THREE boats are loading MINI's at Southampton.

Tellus comes in Saturday Morning and leaves Saturday Night
Figaro arrives Sunday Morning and leaves Sunday afternoon
Jingu Maru arrives in western docks to load Hondas Sunday Morning, then moves round to the WW berth 34/35 at tea time to slip into a very "hot bunk" to load an evening shift of MINI's, finishes off on Monday morning, and chases the other two out into the Atlantic.

I never realised shipping was so hectic

My MINI is very slow to get to the ship. I'm status 160 today, but numerous cars with higher VIN numbers are already at the docks.

I thought there is another ship heading for Charleston on 10/6: the Figaro departs on 10/6 arrives on 10/16. A better ship than the Tellus?

Smile 9/27 production

I have an estimated 9/27 production date. Just called the toll free number and was told my Mini S (Indy Blue) was completed on 9/23 and is awaiting transportation to the Port. They could not understand why it was not on the way already.

MiniTiger,

Don't worry about getting in late, from reading other threads, I understand the dock runs a Last-in , First-Out policy....

Sjjn...No... NO ...NOT true. You have read threads but NOT accurately time placed info, have you? From about August onwards... MINIs move on a first in - first out principle @ Southampton ...' cause THERE IS MASSES OF ROOM in the WW multistorey car park...and THEY ARE CURRENTLY SHIPPING OUT 4 CONSIGNMENTS OF MINIs A WEEk TO USA . Ooops

I guess I never read the posts that countered that evidence.

Thanks sjjn...Sorry if I was a bit "brisque"...but the more I see of WW the more impressed I am. They were in a right pickle whilst building their multi storey and had a huge backlog...but by goodness ...have they sorted that out and the operation is incredibly slick now. MINIs are on their way to the States faster than they get to the UK VPC for British delivery

One step closer...

I'm "Recieved at Terminal" on the Tellus!

Just a few more weeks to go (fingers crossed)...

My Mini is on the way

Load on the ship on the 27th, and set sail on the 30th! It is somewhere in the middle of the ocean right now, it is hard to say the weather officer is not very consistant when he reports, so I can only find it every so often in the map. But YAhoo a short wait now.

MCS, indy BLUE Black Roof, 17" PRF, PP, SP, CWP, NAV
Production date 9-06 Now Helix 19% and Rouge intake. Pulley power is great.....

eBrit - thanks for all this info - this is great stuff!

I'm booked on that last ship, and from what I can tell there are 205 other minis booked along with mine so far!

The OL has been updated and now shows "Awaiting Transport", and the guys at 866-ASK MINI tell me I'm at code 193!

And - my VIN ends in 3 zeros - maybe I'm nuts, but I think that's pretty cool...

Actually ...this is an "on the ball" weather officer (though there may be more than one eager beaver) as he seems to be reporting to several agencies! I picked up one of his reports from National Data Bouy Centre at 6 pm this evening. They are MORE than half way. I've plotted it onto a Ocean weather Map for ease of reference

Ok, I give!

I am unable to find a "Nautical Data Bouy Centre" in order to track the Manon. (Has it left yet?)

The tracking site that is suggested in the FAQ just isn't cutting it. For me anyway. In fact, the graphic that eBrit posted has more information and is even a later time than the graphic that is posted at the site suggested in the FAQ.

Yes, I'm anxious, though I realize that the boat has a 4 week journey to California, only to sit there waiting for the probable backlog of ships to unload in front of it...

The Baby is HERE!
It's an Indi Blue S, and has everything (plus rally lights) but the NAV. White wheels too! :-)

Ok...try this link....NDBC

It's not too complicated to use. Pick for last 12 hours on the drop down list...and have a long slow scan for the call number. No guarantee it's there 'cause it depends on whether the Weather Officer wants to post...its a voluntary service.
