I have my Production Number, and the O.L. shows a week 42 build, (W.E. 18 Oct.)But no VIN yet.

My question is, who in October has a VIN posted in the Lounge?? Or who will be the first to get a VIN for October.

Just post If you have a VIN, and what week build you show so we can all share notes.

Week 40 ends 4 Oct
week 41 ends 11 Oct
week 42 ends 18 Oct
week 43 ends 21 Oct
week 44 ends 1 Nov

week 42 here ~ Oct. 18 ~ status #111 order received at factory

As of yesterday, I am status #108!!
The nice guy I talked to at MINI USA said he never heard of that and would I please call back next week!!

I just got the VIN today only a couple days before birth

, but I've heard of others getting it several weeks before production.

Mine doesn't show the factory options as of today. Hopefully they will match what I order.

It's weird the different experiences people have.

Crap, Im Status #108 now to.
ASK MINI has no idea what this is, all they said was it could mean a delay or a server problem. They said call my dealer. So I will call my dealer.

I called again today and this time they said they thought it was just an error and not a status code #. They keep saying to call back and maybe it will change????
Doesn't the dealer have the same information data as ASKMINI? I doubt if they would know any different.

We may find out what it stands for after we get our cars. We WILL get our cars, right???

They said the dealers have a # they can call to check on car status, it takes 2 to 3 days to get a responce back from that # but is more up to date than ASKMINI has. Thats why they said call my dealer (I left a message on his voice mail)

Yes to Nav
The thought also crossed my mind. I don't mind waiting extra time if we could get DVD instead of CD.

Except for color (mine's Pepper White), I believe our stats are identical!!

That's exciting that you rented a MINI.

What made you choose CVT?

2 things made me go with automatic:
1. Bill Sz. Review of the Cooper S on the 405 (A freeway I use ALOT) He was stuck on it for 3 hours (not uncommon) and manual shifting the S thru that was not fun.

2. I am used to automatic and frankly I enjoy not having to shift all the time. I did a 200 mile test drive in the MC w/ CVT and used the steptronic with much joy. I found that when I wanted to I could use it. So for me it was the best of both worlds.

If I had gone with manual it would have been an S. I did get a lot of s#^t from my friends about not geting the S. I do need to say the six who gave me grief drive S2000,320SLK (Kompressor), another S2000, BMW 5 Series, BMW Z3, and a Benz ML. One of them has had 3 Old School Mini's.
I have convinced most of them that I was right, the rest will understand when I get the car and I take them for a ride.

If we have to wait for a little bit to get our DVD Nav's then it is worth it. I don't know how long a little bit is but at some point I want to drive my car.

Just got off the phone with 1 866 ASK MINI !!
My car went Status 150 today

The fellow told me it might be finished mid week next week!

That would put me out of the factory ahead of schedule, around Oct. 9th or so......

The Owners Lounge claims Oct. 18th

They confirmed all my options too....

That is so exciting! I think you had your order in ahead of some of us-me at least. My order went in August 22. Also depends I guess on dealer allotment.

Congratulations-Ohhhh.. this waiting is hard to take. Maybe waiting for your car to arrive after it's been built will be harder?

I am week 41 and got my VIN yesterday. I was also supposed to be week 43 (as told to me when I placed the order).

It switched to Oct 11 about a week ago.

Checked the Owner's Lounge tomight and my 18 Oct build IB/W MCS now is officially "Scheduled for Production". I went Status 150 on Thursday, so the OL is only ~3 days behind.

But, the good news is that I finally have my VIN!

no vin for my Oct 3rd started production built by the 18th MINI yet either but me not worried just glad to see it no longer "on order" god did that seem to last forever.

EDIT: As of this morning I now have a vin # woohooo
