Finally booked on the Medea. My Mini will have a long ride to California. Any others booked on the Medea?

im on the medea too!

ive been checking my status like a fanatic freak, and nothing was changing -- as of last night i had no booking records indicating i was scheduled to be on this ship so i was certain my little coop was going to miss the boat.

i was so suprised this morning then, when i half-heartedly checked the WW site and i was on board!

just a few more weeks and we'll finally be motoring ... woohoo!:

-btw, soon as i saw it on the ww site, i excitedly told my daughter that the car has been loaded on the ship and got a "really?", which sounded like the equivalent of

she thinks i'm looney when it comes to this car!

I'm California-bound on the Medea as well. My son just rolls his eyes when I give him vessel updates.

so is anyone else concerned/saddened/annoyed that the medea is on its way now to japan -- with our minis on board!!

according to the WW website, the medea will be docking in japan on 10/23. there is no date listed for a return to the states.

will we ever see our minis??

i just called ask-mini and they have no clue where medea is

they weren't showing any indication it's headed for japan. all they show is it "was" scheduled to dock in port hueneme on 10/14 ... but i think that is outdated info.

anyone got better news?

If it doesn't unload in Southern Cal, I'm gonna rent a boat and go after their arsses!!!!
I'm kicking myself, since I was in Maryland 2 1/2 weeks ago when the Medea unloaded in Baltimore. I wish I could have gotten it then and driven home to LA.
Please post as soon as someone knows something!!!!!!

scott, im sure it will eventually unload in SoCal...operative word there being 'eventually'!

i think it has to because it has to go through the VPC. but the medea wont be back around these parts anytime soon. if the WW site is correct, then the medea will be docking in japan on 10/24 (subject to change of course!), leaving that port the same day. so even if it comes stright back to Ca, it wont get here until at least second week of nov.

is anyone else getting this same information when they track their auto on WW? (go to the 'voyage' hyperlink on your car's status page. its called ED236-MED).

That's what I'm showing too when I track my MINI. I've sent a message to my dealer, Matt at LB MINI to see if he knows more. I'll let you know what he says.

good news!

i just rechecked the WW site and it looks like our minis were transferred and loaded to the "terrier" today and that vessel is scheduled to arrive at port hueneme on 10/13.

Talked with Tony today at Long Beach Mini, and he said he was showing it to be unloaded 10/14. I'm hoping for Sunday 13th.
Still won't get it in time for the LB Mini Poker Rally.
Oh well.

as for naming them, captain ahab's a nice choice - sounds quite menacing

i've been thinking of one for such a long time and am still kinda stumped. was leaning towards "liberty" - but she will have a jeep as a namesake. maybe "libby" then

update:

i know that the ask-mini folks may think i'm obessesed (which i am!) from my previous inquiries to them ... but i decided to call them again today anyway

seems my mini - and i'm assuming everyone else's unloaded in port hueneme - is at the vpc for "final processing" and is scheduled to be trucked outta there on 10/18. woohoo!!!
