At the end of the day, it's down to the ship's officer responsible. They voluntarily choose to contribute to the various reporting programmes. The ship's officers are obviously very variable in their "enthusiasm"

Aida's reports are usually good. But, there are no postings I can find for the current voyage of Aida on the Data Buoys Site. ...or, precious few even on Ocean Weather. Her predecessors were...Jingu Maru... briliant all the way and..Isolde.... not a peep I heard from her!.

But...take heart...

I'm having a hard time remembering what the schedule for the Aida was originally. I think she may be ahead of schedule. The data for my voyage shows arrival in Halifax on the 21st, departing Halifax on the 22nd (didn't she originally arrive and depart on the same day?) and arrival in NYC on the 24th.

But, the schedule spreadsheet thingy at http://www.wlna.com/ocean/SCHEDULES.asp shows an arrival in NYC on the 23rd.

Too confusing for me, I'm going to lunch.

The w^2 site finally updated to show action for the Canadian MINIs bound for Halifax. Booking number GBSOU96707 lists MINIs discharged 22/09/2002 16:26

There's still conflicting information about the arrival date in NYC - it's either the 23rd (tomorrow!) or the 24th.

I know of at least one MINI that got discharged at Halifax. It will soon be mine!! Now it has to travel across the country to the West Coast and then a short boat ride to Vancouver Island.

So, now we're in the "black hole" that is the VPC. I don't like calling ASK-MINI to have them track my car for me, and from what I've heard, they cannot tell you to much once you get to this state anyway.

But, if anyone from the Aida does call and find out any info about their car, please let us all know.

I think that's a "feature" of the w^2 tracking site - all the cars under a booking number seem to get the same discharge time. The load times vary, but not the discharge times.

Whew. I've been disharged as well. You know, I've had a lot of cars in my day and this whole tracking thing stinks. I was never anxious waiting for a car before. Too much information. Just kidding, I'm kind of diggin' it but the anticipation is starting to kill me.
