Instead of stealing the old Aida thread, how about a new one? Who else is booked on the September 15th departure of the Aida (voyage EA237-AID)? Last I looked, there were 395 MINI shipmates for Veruca (my velvet red/white cooper) headed for New York under booking number GBSOU96702.

Cool... My car's a Velvet Red / White cooper with a sunroof, white 5-spokes, black leatherette interior and chrome line bumpers.

I wasn't sure if we needed another thread either, but why not, they're free after all

I'm booked as well! After several days of wondering whether my MINI had made the train to the port, the VIN finally produced info in the WW site.

Look for a pure silver/black cooper.

Interesting, I went back and forth between your combo and mine. Using pics from the forum and galleries since I had seen neither in person.

When in doubt go with your first instinct.

When I ordered a salesman from across the floor overheard and said "right on". And then they told me they happened to be getting delivery of the first Pepper White in St. Louis the next week.

I had wimped out and gone with black interior after shortly considering the tartan red, but when I saw the pepper white w/ black top & red interior, I knew I made the right decision. Almost.

You have to make at least one change to your order, isn't that the rule? I'm getting Tartan Red interior.

Well I missed the "classic shot " I was after by about half an hour

...you know the "Aida with giant bow wave scudding up Southampton Water" one...but it was probably only half light anyway. I got there to see her being brought into the berth backwards by the tug Lyndhurst at sun up (6:45).

This shot shows the tension still on the tugs rope before the shore ropes fully take the strain.

Lots of piccies, beautiful morning, post some more later.

Waiting are your MINIs. The Aida was moored by 7:00. And the stevedores (who start at 8;00) were on board by 8:03 and had loaded the first MINI by 8:06. Impresive, egh?

I reckon there were 500 MINIs in the WW Multistorey and about 100 on the ground ...ready to go.
