Delivery date - MINI Cooper Forum

hiya, my mini is due for delivery on 1st march, however the dealer has told me that the car hasnt actually finished being built... is this normal? and should i be worried about the timescales??

That's more than normal, expect a week from finished build to been with you. That's about how long it's taking these days!!

Did your car arrive on time then Shaunie?

I ordered mine on the 28th Feb. Called my dealer last Thursday (27th March) and he said my car was 'in build' and that it should be here within 10 days.

Is it really that quick for the car to get here etc in that timescale?

I am not sure if our minis would be on the same boat but I have placed my order on May 4th (just a couple days away from yours) and its on the BOHEME ship now!

My dealership says they do not know what ship my mini is on but it was at the dock in Southampton on June 5th and is in transit now. How long does it take to cross the ocean and get to the port in South Carolina???

Hi calong, if your mini is en route, it is probably on the Asian Chorus along with mine! It's due in to New York on the 20th of june, and not much longer to you I would think. I have to wait as the ship doesn't get to Calif. until 3 July.

Sorry, i forgot all about this Thread.... Well my car didnt arrive on the 1st March, but MINI did give me a loan car until was ready.. It finally arrived in Northampton on 11/03/08, and with the PDI etc i picked it up on 17th March......

So altohough i wasnt happy with the delivery, MINI did make sure that i had a car to get from A to B......
