Fastest delivery?

I walked into my local dealer this past Saturday to order an "S"... I pick it up tommorow....

Now why's everybody whining about waiting 6 months....

Seriously I lucked out... a red and white Cooper S with sport package was ordered by somebody in June and once it arrived he couldn't put the $$ together...so since that's pretty much what I wanted...boom there it is...except i had to pay extra for leather...oh well...

thanks to the list with helping me gather the info needed to make my $40K descision...

Hi tirc,

Welcome to the Club. Actually your case is similar to mine. I got my DS/W MCS in about 5 days after I placed an order for a 2003 MCS. The fellow who ordered the car couldn't come up with the money and cancelled.

The car I got has every option including Gravity leather (lapis blue/charcoal), except NAV and OBC.

I'm in Waterloo Ontario...

The dealer seemed fairly happy to find a buyer...he says leather ain't too popular...personally I like the red and black cloth interior...but aperently that's pretty rare in these parts...

Our dealer is far enough out of the toronto area to have the luxury of having too many mini's on the lot.... 11 I believe and one more unclaimed "S"...aperently there is a wait for plain old coopers in Toronto...

I also got my MINI from B-K, off the lot at the end of April (got a launch edition, supposedly the owner got a 3-series Bimmer instead but who knows?). At that time, there was just one unclaimed MINI and I got it but their lot has been filling up with them ever since. If anyone in Toronto wants one, they should check out www.miniwaterloo.ca's showroom page to see if anything there looks good. I don't work for the dealer, it is just getting sad driving by and seeing the line grow by the month It is nice for my car to remain exclusive so people taking them to Toronto is a good solution

First post for me, MINI2 virgin, be gentle.

Here's my story...

Thursday morning. Wet road, fast corner, loss of adhesion, pirouette, Cavalier SRi ends up in hedge bottom!

Saturday morning. Calls up local MINI dealer, enquires about 2nd hand MINI Coopers, a few for sale. Dealer then asks if its new or nearly new that I'm after. New would be nice but there is the waiting list and I am now without motor. Dealer says we have an unregistered Cooper just delivered, no buyer, in the lockup next door!!! 2 hrs later arrive at dealer, do the deal.
Week Monday. Take delivery 9 days later. Would have been 5 days after totalling the SRi but due to the September registration rush I had to wait with baited breath.....

First impressions, glad I bent the Cavalier! Would have been better but it was p*ssing down with rain when I drove from the dealer...

First of all, welcome to MINI2, and congratulations on owning a MINI .

I have to ask: is the "H" in Big_H for "Hedge"?

Well done tirc.
I thought I was quick. 8th Aug. Seen a MINI ad on the side of a lorry. 11th Aug. took a test drive in a MCS. 3rd Sept. took delivery of my MCS. Bk/W. W/wheels & stripes. Air con. and cd multi changer. Just about run in now so the grin is getting bigger.
Going on my 1st MINI run on Sunday 2 peaks run and am looking forward to meeting all there.
Proof that this is more than just a car it's a lifestyle.

Nah, but after the little prang it might as well be. The hedge wasn't very big, just thick!! Caused a nice ripple effect down the drivers side, creased wing, bent struts under the engine, bust indicator, lots of broken plastic bits under the wing, dislodged headlight.........time to get rid me thinks. Goodbye SRi, hello MINI Cooper!!
