OK - so my dealer is going to give me a Production Number.

Where do I go on the web to translate that into a Build Number?

And then what will I see? The details of my unbuilt MCS, including all options, and an actual "build" date? And maybe ship date to Canada? And maybe delivery date to dealer?

Any info would be helpful. The wait, as you know, is awful!

FYI - Canada's most decorated Olympic Athlete is a speed skater named Marc Gagnon. He's doing the talk show tour as Mini Canada's spokesperson. He's driving an MCS and LOVES it! He's 6' 1'' and has lots of room!

I'm 6'3" and I don't even have the seat all the way back to drive my MINI. I have inches of space above my head ,and I have to jack the seat all the way up to get my head to touch the roof (the last two cars I owned, my head touched the headlining or sunroof edging even with the seat all the way down). MINI has much headroom in the back, and even my Dad, who's all of 6'8" can stretch his legs out in the front passenger seat.

Actually I remember my Dad used to drive a Mini van back in the early 70s I think his knees must've been up around his ears.

But basically, you take your production number and sign up in the Owner's Lounge at MINIUSA. You can then follow your MINI's production status. Shortly after you hit "Scheduled For Production", you'll get your VIN number, which you can then use to get insurance quotes, etc. *and* after you car is sent to the port, track your car on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen cargo tracking website.

I've done this myself, and it's become an obsession. Ignorance is indeed bliss.

However, I don't think the MINI Canada site has an owner's lounge. I guess I'm at the mercy of dealer info - which will likely suck!

I'm sorry - I didn't see the flag in your sig.

Something you may want to fool around with is I think the MINIUSA OL and BMWUSA OL are really the same site. Try messing around with the URLS for BMW Canada, and see if you can find your MINI in there.
