Anyone on Galaxy Leader, Departed 26 Sep?

Hey, my MCS has been loaded and is enroute to Port Hueneme, California. Ultimate destination is Mini of Murray, SLC Utah. Anybody else have a car on the Galaxy Leader? I've been trying the "track at sea" link mentioned in the FAQ section but can't locate that ship name anywhere.

Angry Cant track Galaxy Leader at sea

My ride is on the same boat!

I wasnt able to find the Galaxy Leader on the list of ships at sea either.

Does anyone know if she has sailed under another name in the past?

Hopefully, this dock-worker lockout will be resolved well before our progeny are due to land .

Did your car go straight from the train to the boat? Mine landed at the dock at 0747 on the 26th, and was loaded onto the ship at 1034. And this was a day before my projected production date!

Cheers.

You beat me! Mine landed at the dock at the same time but wasn't loaded for a whole 5 minutes later! You cut in line, didn't you!
Anyway, as long as the docks are open by the 21st, right? Hey, if mine was loaded after yours then guess which one comes off first?!
We're still looking for Galaxy Leader info...anyone?

Thumbs up Galaxy Leader call sign

I think I have the call sign: FPSN7.

I didnt have any success doing the search on the coast guard web page, so I checked the shipping schedule after it was updated on Thursday. There were several ships in the area of Chesapeake Bay (found lat/longitude coordinates with a google search). The schedule showed the Galaxy Leader docking in Baltimore 10/4, then Brunswick, GA on 10/6. Of all the ships leaving the Chesepeake, only FPSN7 was headed south to Brunswick ( 31 15' N Latitude, 81 29'W Longitude).

Mind you, this is all just deductive reasoning without a shred of objective evidence, but I still think I'm right .

BTW, the Panama Canal is at 34.1 N Lat/-119.2 W Long. in case you would like to follow along...

Cheers.

Excellent work snagmonkey!
I tried (unsuccessfully) to locate the ships name in several searches of maritime links. No luck. So I tried finding it with the call sign you listed but still had no luck (yesterday). Any idea where it is today?
By the way, looks like the dock workers strike MAY be over by next Monday (see CNN.com story)...

Sangmonkey...help! Have you been able to locate the ship? I tried again today and no luck. The ports should be open tonight and I'm wondering how the backlog will affect our ship. Hopefully it won't be delayed too much, as vehicle transporters are usually unloaded differently than container ships. Any updates?

galaxy leader location

I'm afraid I cant offer much.

I havent been able to locate the ship either, though I have another idea about the call sign of the galaxy leader.

I have been spending WAY too much time on the oceanweather web site, and have been slowly figuring out the differences between the icons. I now suspect that what I had suggested was the G.L. may in fact be a buoy . It seems that the 2 maps I was looking at overlap at the margins. Sorry for the wild goose chase.

HOWEVER, I did locate what I believe is a ship in the gulf west of Florida that looks promising. Call sign is WGXO. If you break it down, you can convince yourself that this makes sense: "W" for WW, the shipping company; "GX" for galaxy; and "O" for, well I havent come up with that one yet, but you see where I am heading.

WGXO hits on a ship on the Coast Guard web page, though the name is different than Galaxy Leader. It is a cargo ship similar in size to those in the WW fleet. Maybe WW purchased it and has changed the name, but the paperwork hasnt made it to the Coast Guard's web page yet.

I have checked a couple of times today and have not seen WGXO. They may have perfect weather and have nothing to report. Who knows?

I will keep watching and post if I see something.

Love a good mystery!!!

Cheers.

No luck finding Galaxy Leader at sea. I tried Snagmonkey's lead and found a ship with WGXO call sign but it's about a third of the way between the UK and North America so I doubt that's the right one.
However!!! I checked the WW website again and under the Voyage ID it shows the ship scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme THIS Friday, the 18th of October! That's a few days earlier than originally projected. Can't complain about that. Sounds too good to be true, but we might get our babies a little earlier than expected...premies!

PREMIES!!!

That's funny!

Yeah. I botched it on the WGXO. Sorry 'bout dat. I guess I REALLY wanted it to be the GL. I have been looking daily at all ships in the area, but none ever pan out.

Great news that the ship will be arriving early, though.

Now the great dilemma is whether or not to drive her (still dont have a name) to Portland from Vegas, or have the dealer truck it up to me. Time off is hard to come by on short notice in the hospital biz. Particularly when the possibility exists that weather could extend the trip in an unpredictable manner.

I know y'all are going to bust my chops for even CONSIDERING shipping it up, so get it out of your system.

I will keep looking for the GL and post only after careful consideration .

later, mates.

Today is Friday...THE DAY! The strange thing is that I checked the WW tracking website last night and under the voyage ID it showed arrival date as the 17th. Of course I was all giddy, thinking I'd wake up this morning to find the cargo had been offloaded. No such luck. Now the WW site is back to todays date. Oh well, at least it's better than next Monday!
Snagmonkey...you made a valiant effort! I had no luck whatsoever and even knowing the ship is due in today I'm still unable to locate it on the "find at sea" link. Maybe we're all on a stealth ship...

Any ideas? It's the 20th today and the WW site still shows arrival on the 18th. No changes to the WW tracking info (not discharged yet). It's either not in port yet, still waiting to be offloaded or WW doesn't update their tracking sites on weekends. What do you think?

Checked the WW site last night to find the status of my MCS changes to "Discharged" @ 0700 on the 18th. Sure took a while to get updated. Then called Mini and they showed the car scheduled to arrive at the VPC on Saturday. She told me the average time at the VPC recently has been two to three days. From there it's the travelling time by truck to the dealer. In my case it may take another three days to get to Salt Lake City.
Hope my fello Galaxy Leader travellers have fun in the next week!

It's getting worse!
I called Mini yesterday to find that my car has not even made it to the VPC yet. It's still sitting at the docks, waiting to be moved to the VPC due to the Dock Workers delays. The Mini rep said the delay was due to perishables having priority over the cars for processing.
I suggest everyone call 866 ASK MINI and get the updates/details of their cars status. And don't forget to post your results...
