Unhappy Who to trust? Owner's Lounge or Wallenius Wilhelmsen?

Argh!! [Anxiety has set in.]

Owner's Lounge = 193 (aka sitting on the dock since 9/27)
Wallenius W.= loaded on the Manon which launched 10/3

Who do I believe??

The Baby is HERE!
It's an Indi Blue S, and has everything (plus rally lights) but the NAV. White wheels too! :-)

Wallenius. They are the ones who actually physically have your car right now, so they know more about it's whereabouts than MINI. Throughout the shipping process for my S, WW was always ahead of the OL. My car didn't flip from "awaiting transport" to the next stage on the OL until it was just off the U.S. coast...

Cool

Hey jaycbird, have you tried tracking the Manon? My S is on it too, and I haven't seen any reports of it's location as yet. I'm in Hawaii, and will have to wait for shipment after California off-loading. Hope to have the Mini by Thanksgiving!

I am using this site to track the Manon:
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/ship_obs.phtml
The Manon's ship ID is SIWN and it is checking in every 12 hours, at 00:00 and 12:00 GMT. At it's last check-in, it was at: 44.3 Longitude, -36.5 Latitude. The next check-in is in just an hour and a half!

Due to the port lock-out, I hope to have MINE by Thanksgiving too!

So how do you figure out where the ship is with that data?

Any nice website to plug the #'s into or do I have to go buy a world atlas?

Got a globe?

I don't know of a website that is that easy, but this site (which is referenced in the FAQ) is easy enough to plot:
http://www.oceanweather.com/data/index.html

A point worth bearing in mind is that contribution of Weather Observations is entirel voluntary on the part of Ships Officers. Often WW Weather Officers report to neither for an entire voyage, more often to one OR the other at random or fixed intervals, but certainly not always to both.

Ny experience is that you are more likely to find a ship on National Data Bouy Centre than Ocean Weather.

How to read it? take a note of Latituse Longitude..go to the Ocean weather Map of the North Atlantic (or download it to your desktop) and all the markings are in place on the map. Bare in mind the weather is changing frequently...your downloaded map is not.

Talking Thanks!

Thanks jaycbird! These 2 websites make it a reasonable proposition to follow the progress of the Manon, even with 12 hour increments. I am beginning to worry about my Mini delivery though, since it will have to be unloaded in California. Hawaii has gotten expemted from the dock shut-down (we were running low on toilet paper), but the Manon may have trouble off-loading, and I haven't really checked about other ships in the queue.
