TIMELINE references for future owners

I thought, maybe, we should start a thread regarding your MINI's timeline to help future owners understand where they are in the process.

So my timeline looks like this:

March - Ordered Indi Blue MINI Cooper S
August 8 - Dealer placed order for a 9/27 production date
September 10 - Status 112
September 15 - Status 150 and Vin Number assigned
September 25 - BORN
September 28 - Shipped to Southhampton
September 30 - left on the Don Juan
Oct 8th - In Port at Bayonne, NJ
Oct 14 - VPC
Oct 17 - Dealer
Oct 18 - MINI is MINE(y)

Total days in anguish - 6 months 18 days. (23 days from built to mine) Granted mine may look longish but I was waiting for INDI BLUE to start production.

Anyone else want to chime in with their story?

I posted this after I picked mine up to help others with the WAIT and the inevitable questions that go along...

Seems like noone reads it because there are about 8 new posts above this asking what is answered here...

So I'll bump it up again.

My IB/W MCS was born on the 23rd. (I'm status 160 on the 24th)

I've been wondering if it would make the Don Juan on the 27th & it doesn't look like it from your experience.

I think that puts me out a week for the Jingu Maru on the 3rd. At least that's what I think. I thought I read somewhere that it would come in through New York.

I'm hoping it gets to Indianapolis before Thanksgiving.

Checked into VPC: 10/17
Released from VPC: 10/17
(Yes, in and out of the VPC in one day)
Loaded onto a truck: 10/24
Arrived dealer: 10/25
Scheduled to pick up car: 10/29

Can someone tell me where you find out what production status number your car is at. In owner's lounge mine says, scheduled date for production Nov. 1st. Any idea of how much time from production to delivery ?

02Apr02 - Visit Cincinatti Mini on vacation to see if the car lives up to it's history, tell wife I'm not even considering buying, just want to drive one.
03Apr02 - Make deposit! Gotta have one of these cars. Indi Blue S pushes me into 2003 model year build
16Sep02 - Get build number
07Oct02 - Scheduled For Production
14Oct02 - Start of Production
18Oct02 - End of Production
21Oct02 - Released to Distribution
22Oct02 - En Route to Port of Exit
23Oct02 - Booked on the Don Juan (checked on WW cargo tracking site)
28Oct02 - Don Juan leaves Southampton on its way to NYC
05Nov02 - Estimated Landing
15Nov02 - Estimated Delivery @ Cincinatti Mini (I hope...)
