ok, my estimated production date is, and has been, Feb. 7th. No change. I've been "scheduled for production" at mini owner's lounge for about a week now. should i be able to track my mini at Wallenius yet, or do i have to wait until after the 7th? i keep getting "no tracking info is available for the cargo id you entered" when i put my last 7 digits of the VIN in. i got the impression that they should at least tell me i'm "booked" or something by now?

Just keep checking! Your MINI should show up on the WW site any time now. I think mine showed up about three days after my scheduled production date, but some people's were earlier.

I was also due on the 7th but went to transport on the 5th.
I am now waiting for the carmen to ge it to port for the ride on the pond

You will not see your VIN as "booked" until W&W has possession of the car. I believe the way it works is that BMW/MINI book a block of space, but individual vehicles are not booked until they are actually at the dock.

Thanks for the info, it worked! Day after production date (a Saturday no less!!!), both owner's lounge went to "awaiting transit" and W&W all of a sudden told me that we're booked on the Fidelio! To arrive Charleston 2/25ish! How cool. Even tells you what time the car got to the terminal (saturday morning in this case--wonder if anyone gets ot for delivering a mini at 7:44 AM! on a saturday?).

Thanks again, . . . now we just got to get loaded and out to sea..............

Called MINIUSA today and found out Smeagol was "released to distribution" Saturday (2/8). Can anyone tell me how long it takes to arrive at the docks and get on a ship? Based on the WW schedule, looks like the next ship that will sail to SC shoves off 2/14, which is VERY tight! Trying to figure out if that's feasible... anyone with experience on this, please advise.. if he misses that ship, he'll have to wait until 2/21

Mine was 160 "Released to Distribution" on Friday, arrived at the port apparently today, Wallenius Wilhelmson logged the car in at 8:12PM UK Time, and it's booked on the Fidelio leaving port tomorrow... for arrival in Charleston on 2/24

You've got a couple more options than just Carmen on 2/14... the Fidelio leaves on the 11th, and Aida leaves on the 12th. Good luck!

I'm beginning to think this forum knows more about what's going on than MINI!! (although the people there are very nice to talk to and are helpful).
It certainly has the resources to know what's ABOUT to happen before it does -- sure enough, after posting on this forum yesterday, I check W&W's website and, sure enough, there's Smeagol being registered in on February 10th @ 18:22.He's sailing on the Fidelio and should arrive Charleston on 2/24 if all goes well. Thanks to Bobntx for the accurate info! Been reading about some delays (up to a week or more) at some of the ports of entry and VPC's lately -- something about "backlogs"... anyone know which ports and what the cause(s) is (are)?

My MCS is listed on the WW site as being "discharged" in NY on 2-9 and being "delivered from" on 2-10. Does anybody know if this means that it has left the BMW distribution center or simply been discharged from the boat (Falstaff) and delivered from the port to the distibution center?

I ordered my car on 1-11-03 and it's already here! My dealer gave me my production number last week although didn't mention that my car had been built already. I still haven't gotten around to asking him how the heck this all happened so fast, but my gues would be someone ordering a MCS with the same specs as mine bowed out. Thanks in advance for responses to to the above question.

Your build date may have slipped, or your MINI may be in progress on the line. Mine was in production for a few days. You could call ASK-MINI.
