Offline   |  Anyone riding the TOSCA on Mar 26, 2003? :) Well I was hoping I might sneak out earlier, but it looks like I'm set and booked for the TOSCA which steams on March 26 for an April 04 arrival in NYC and from there a bounce down to Charleston. Offline | My MCS is booked. I'm told to watch to confirm that it's loaded... and then to watch several days after departure to ensure it stays loaded, in case it got bumped to another ship. Anyone booked on this voyage that got bumped? My production date was 3/21, but the MCS was aparently status 182 (waiting for the train ride to the dock) on 3/18 or 19. My dealer is in Milwaukee, WI... any ideas how long I should expect to wait after the scheduled 4/4 arrival of the Tosca in NY, NY? 2003 Dark Silver / Black Cooper S Black Leatherette, Anthracite Trim, Premium / Sport / Cold Packages, HK Stereo, Auto Wipers / Mirror Visit My MINI Site |

Offline | Same boat as you are in other than I have a "received at terminal" notice from WW's site. My production date was 3/21 and it was built 3/18 and received at Terminal 3/19. The big hurdle is the VPC (assuming your MINI comes through without damage this can be as quick as 3 days) and then loaded on a truck for transport to your dealership. How long is the drive to Milwaukee from NYC? Slice that into 500 mile chunks and that'll give you a rough estimate of how long it'll take to get there. I'm happy my dealership is Albany NY.. can't imagine that's gonna take more than 1 day to get delivered once it clears the VPC I went with the Space Cloth Interior (moving to Arizona) and the Silver trim... but avoided the Cold package.. something about having the seats heated in Arizona just doesn't sound right to me --Micah |

Offline   | ACK~~ getting unloaded and clearing the VPC is sooo unimformative... My vessel supposiedly arrived Fri. and left the port Sat but the WW site still hasnt updated the car's status as arrived or whatever... makes it seem like it never got off the vessel and is making its journey back to UK. hahaha (*Hope NOT*)  |

Offline | Hehe... well you think about it they have to go through an Insurance Inspection (to clear WW and confirm the vehicle arrived zero-defect and is ready for delivery) and then they undo the shipping goo (do they wax up the cars?) they put on them to help prevent damage. Then they get cleared to get loaded on a truck. The whole sorting and everything has to be a major pain in the tailside... but at least they run 24/7..... --Micah |

Offline | Well I only ever heard from a few people with regards to the TOSCA Trip - but I finally received 'Stripe' yesterday... oh man... well worth the wait - the last 10 days was utterly stressful thanks to MASS's RMV.
