Offline | I noticed that MINIUSA updated my profile to giev me an estimated delivery date of April 26th, however the vehicle still has to finish going through the VDC (it got off of teh ship on 4/23) and dealer processing. To those who have already gotten their MINI's, how accurate was your EDD? (Forgive me if this is in the FAQ's--I didn't see anything referring to the EDD on MINI2). |

| MINI2 Senior | The EDD is not very accurate. Mine was at the VPC for almost two weeks. It was going from Bayonne to Long Island. Other cars moved quickly through and were off the boat, into the VPC, and delivered in Kansas in the space of about 9 days. Go figure. I thought it was pretty comical that the OL still said my EDD was 3/1/03 on about 3/6/03. Makes waiting that much harder to know it is in port... Dave Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back? '03 MCS BRG/W Anthracite Pkg 1,2,3 |

Offline | Yeah that does make it tough. I know it arrived and made it off of the ship but I guess it's in limbo. I called the dealer and they said it's on the ship to NJ (it's not, it arrived 4/23) and it should be in port Monday and I would take delivery from the dealer about a week later. I didn't tell him I knew it had already arrived--what he told me seemed like a guess given as fact just to answer my question. It's just tough because I have to get the loan squared away and sell my car but without a solid date, that makes things stressful! Oh well--I figured it wasn't very accurate, just one more thing to keep people chomping at the bit. Thanks. |

Offline | I found it to be highly accurate if not a little conservative, sort of. My original ship sank in the English Channel so the little MINI sat on the dock for a couple extra weeks awaiting passage. Once we figured that out, WW were +/- a day here and there on the way over but we ended up getting it about 3 weeks after originally planned (due to the shipwreck) but about a week early going by what the dealer said once it hit the port. The I-5 corridor is one of the fastest freightways in the US though I think so a lot of it will depend on where you are in the country and how frequently trucks go there. |

Offline | Well I can actually answer my own question now--Not accurate at all! Estimated delivery date = 26 April Actual delivery date = 6 May And I had to really push for that 6 May delivery date. Once it gets to the dealer, it depends on how fast they can process it. Mine arrived on a Thursday night but since the accounting people leave at 12 on Friday, they couldn't do much until the following week. I was lucky to get it on Tuesday. Just chcek with your dealer when you know it is off the ship--that is how I found out when it was released from the VDC and I actually got to the dealer shortly after it came off of the truck (not like I could have taken it home, but it helped to see it!) ![]() |
