CARMEN Voyage of 14 Apr 03-Discharge from NJ VPC?

Has anyone with a car from the 14 April 2003 voyage of the Carmen received word on whether his or her car has been released from the NJ VPC?

The Carmen discharged the vehicles on 23 April 2003 in NYC/NJ and I can't get a straight answer from my sales rep regarding my car's current status. (I'm trying to coordinate the sale of my current car and get a reasonable estimate on the projected delivery date.)

Any info would be appreciated.

I wish I could tell you something. My car was on the same ship and I have no updates. After calling my dealer last week and having him tell me that it would be off the ship on Monday (28 Apr) when I knew it had come off on the 23rd, I realized that the dealers (or at least my dealer) probably know as little or less than we do.

I'm trying to sell my car too and get the loan amount finalized so I understand where you're coming from. It's frustrating.

Perhaps MINI's succumbed to the demands of the rear foglight petition and we're getting the missing toggles and rear fog lights activated on our cars at the VPC

My MCS also came in on the Carmen (4/23) and has yet to be released. The dealer in Baltimore who ordered my car claims to have 20 minis waited to clear the VPC.
I wasn't having much trouble waiting until now!

I received a call from my MA this morning and my baby was loaded on a car carrier yesterday - bound for Virginia Beach.

He said he was hoping to be able to deliver to us on Saturday!!!

Owners lounge does indeed state my MINI is at the VPC (and that the expected delivery date is still 28 April.) Maybe I should just contact you to find out whether mine's been loaded on a carrier to Chicago. Hope you get your hands around the wheel of yours by Saturday.

Finally an update! OL says it's at the distribution center--and since there is a 2-3 day lag in the OL news, I'm guess it got there Monday or Friday. Still crossing my fingers to have it by SATURDAY (trying to be an optimist here).

Alledgedly 'our baby' is about a week away according to Momentum Mini here in Houston. Still posted as 'En Route' in the owners lounge though...

Now I had better start clearing some space in the garage

I just spoke to my dealer and got a straight reply--the car was released to the carrier and should arrive at the dealer today. If things go well, I can get it Saturday--if not, then sometime next week.

This is so great--I can't smile wide enough (and of course I look like an idiot because I'm at work. Thank God for cubicle walls)!

Quick update--Mine is at the dealer--actually saw it after it got off of the truck last night. My dealer said she would try to get it so me and my husband can pick it up tonight or Saturday--I hope so!

Who else got their cars? I am officially jealous.

Tate MINI's accounting people leave at noon on Fridays, so they couldn't get to my car in time. We returned yesterday and most of the cars were still there. mY car even had an EB/B twin with a VIN three numbers higher than my own.

Keeping my fingers crossed for tonight or possible tomorrow. Congrats to all who got to enjoy their cars over the weekend.

Mine was delivered on Saturday (Chicago area), geminiCS. Now all I have to do is rack up 1250 "granny" miles so the real fun can begin.
