Quick question: How long before delivery date/due at dealer date can I change the spec of my cooper s? Its coming to teh dealers on the 5th of june so im thinking im too late, cos i was kinda thinkng of going for full leather and getting the heated seats. If its too late i spose ill save me some pennys!

Once your MINI hits status code 150, it's unlikely you can change things.

I'm going to move this to the delivery forum, where people are more informed about the timelines.

You can call MINIUSA or you can check your status in the owner's lounge.

With all the information out there available from 866-ASK-MINI and the MINI USA Owner's Lounge, sometimes I think we forget the role of the dealer in the transaction. If you are interested in changing specs - they are the ones that will have to do it for you, and they have instant access to the system and can check your status and most importantly, make your changes.

As far as I know, AprilWhine is correct on the status code. From personal experience I can tell you that I "assumed" a dealer stock order on 24Jan03 which built on 12Feb03 and was able to change the spec to whatever I wanted on 24Jan. But you can't change between MC and MCS Have to stay with the same car. But my experience was about 3 weeks out and changes could be made.

Thabks. tho i would point out that the miniusa order tracker/owners loungue doesnt work for UK cars. Is there a UK equivilant that I havent spotted?

DAMN DAMN ARGGGGGGGHHH! rang my dealer and its too late apparently. Now im realy realy pee'ed off. I want the full leather and not the half leather. Surely the seats are like the last thing they put in, and my car doesnt come until the 6th of June, why cant they change it!? Anything i can do? Please help me!

Bummer. You could ask your dealer if he/she would use that car as a floor model and place a second order for the car you now want. It would delay your order but perhaps not by too much. It might be worth it if the seats are going to bother you for years.......

naa, decided just to *** it and ge it. im sure ill fall in love with the car straight away anyway, and i was originally unsure whtehr i wanted full leather or not. its only since i decided i did and couldnt get it that suddenly it seems like its the end of the world! guess its the old forbbidon fruit syndrome! Anyways, worst comes to the worst and it does annoy me, i can just sell it and buy another one i suppose, as they are selling second hand for as much as new. cheers for the advcie gents
