...at least I think it was you. It was a IB/B Cooper, but I stopped looking at it when I spotted my own IB/B S :-)
Also, thanks for the links to the bins.

So, instead of experimenting with the car, I ended up searching the FAQ. Yup, most MCS's have this hiccup and a 'yo-yo effect' too. and there is nothing BMW can do!
Great...

There is always something they can do. I am going to be taking my car to BMW tomorrow so they can change the lock settings off of auto-lock and I am going to ask them about this. It seems when I am driving my mini I can either rev her really high to try to get above the stumble (which doesn't completely solve the problem) or I can try to slide in low (which is not good for entering traffic. I will expect them to fix this as I do not want to have a new car that is not working properly. I will keep you informed.

Lots of people are complaining about the "first gear stumble". Another thread said that the latest software version (34) is out but I haven't heard if it solves the problem or not (or causes a new one).

Well it appears it wasn't me. I stopped at the dealer this morning and there wasn't an IB/B on the lot [sigh]. So I'm still waiting for the call.

As planned, we picked up Kazu Saturday morning. He was sitting proudly in the showroom waiting for us. When I asked my MA about floor mats, he said, "They're already in there." (BTW, who sells a car without floor mats?)

Nearly 300 miles later, he runs like a champ! The one exception is the hiccup in 1st. I kept adjusting my seet because I thought I was doing something wrong, but it wouldn't go away. As somebody who has ONLY owned manuals, I was really confused by it, so I'm glad I'm not alone.

Has anyone seen the MINI add with the bogey stickers? It is pretty funny. A co-worker cut it out of one of his car magazines and brought it in for me.

I was. Apparently all the vehicles bound for the same dealership don't all get there at once.

Either that or they sold my car to someone else, in which case I will definitely kill someone.

Update: stopped in on my way home tonight to talk to my MA (he wasn't in this morning when I went looking for my car).

He checked the delivery list. Of all the Peabody bound MINIs that came over on the Tai Shan, only 2 are still at the VPC in NJ. Guess who one of them belongs to? If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

If it arrives tomorrow (tuesday) I'll get it thursday. If it arrives wednesday, I'll get it saturday (they're closed friday). Beyond that, I won't have it for the fourth of July.

woot! picked it up this evening and put on 60 miles for what should have been a 30 mile trip home.

dealer forgot the viper stripes. no biggie - i'll get them installed somewhere else for less.

haven't driven a manual-trannied car in 10+ years, so can i blame my poor starts on "first gear stumble", too?

Froggert,

Congrats! How do you like the space cloth? Picking up mine on Thursday and have never actually sat in one with space cloth - my order was based on the reviews I read in the forums here at Mini2.

Thanks
