Offline | PDI at Cowley - is this true? Hello all - need a bit of advice. Got the final call from the dealer today saying I can collect my car on 12th june. Big hurrah from me, needless to say. The dealer says they're getting the car the very same day. I ask doesn't it take a while to do the PDI checks? Dealer says we now have the option to have the PDI checks done at the factory to save time. I have a bit of a WTF moment under my breath, but thought I'd see if that was the case before I question them. Anyone ever heard of this? Minty, you may be in the best position to say yay or nay. Would really like to know if this is true or they're just BSing me... Thanks in advance  |

  ITS RAINNIN' SIDEWAYS  | i was told, and its been discussed previously that every new BMW & MINI that gets distributed in the UK has to go through their testing & inspection facility at Thorne near Doncaster. This is after any factory final inspection but the dealer should still do a PDI check themselves as they are the ones who are responsible for selling you the car, therfore they are responsible for the quality of it. I would insist they do a PDI check themselves.  |

Offline | Cheers hat - had seen a thread or two entitled "how long at Doncaster?" etc but thought there was a particularly lazy dealer there or something. It's all a little clearer now. Gotta drop in the insurance cover note tomorrow so I'll have a VERY good chat to them about this.... |
