MiniUSA updated their tracking system recently and can no longer track vehicles past the point they are loaded on the ship. This means no status updates on boat arrival or at the VPC.

Just wanted to let everyone know. You might want to try calling and see if you get the same answers.

Is this really a change?

I got my MCS in August '02 and seem to recall that tracking the MINI's progress after it left the factory was not done via MINI, rather via connecting to the web site of the shipping company. If the ship was reporting weather conditions, you could determine it's position at sea by accessing another site.

Once it arrived at the VPC, the information provided by MINIUSA was very general at best and was not updated very frequently. It was common for MINIUSA to say the car was still at the VPC when in fact it had been delivered to the dealer.

Same here . . . MINI USA never to my knowledge tracked once the car is released to the ship, although they were able to tell if it was inducted to the VPC and when it was scheduled to leave the VPC for the dealer.
