I am pretty sure they are but want to double check.

I am purchasing the car from the dealership in Utah and will be driving it back to California. Looking at California DMV's website, it states that it will only register cars that are California smog certified. I assume the Mini Cooper is because it is 50 state certified.

Correct?

Yes, you are correct. CA prices are so much over MSRP that lots of people have bought out of state.

Thanks. Now I need to co-ordinate the registration. It seems I only have 20 days after crossing the border to do so.

You may want to ask some of the people from CA for advise on the registration. Someone who has already completed the process could give you valuable pointers.

The MINI is 50 State smog certified, but I believe you still have to have a CA smog check to register it.
