My Cooper S was scheduled for production on 8/20 (owner's lounge). Can anyone tell me when the production date will be? Right now it is estimated for 9/5. Is there any chance that it might be ahead of schedule?? this wait is killing me!!!

Has yours got a VIN? If so, then it's on its way.

Remember that the estimated production date is the FRIDAY of the week when it will be completed. Mine was done on Monday of that week (EPD of 8/22, but it was actually completed on 8/17), so there's a very good chance that it'll get finished before 9/5.

For more detail on the status, see this page, and call 1-866-ASK-MINI. With your production number, they can give you the exact status, which is more specific than just "Scheduled for Production".

I can tell you that when mine was built, it took about a week after the VIN popped up in the owner's lounge for anything to happen, then it started sailing through the statuses pretty quick....paint shop on Thursday, Final assembly on Saturday or so, released to distribution on Monday, sitting at the dock waiting 10 days to get on a ship by Tuesday.

thanks!! yeah i do have the VIN. i just called MINIUSA and was told that it was in the prelimnary stages of production. Thats heartening to know that there is a good chance that it might get done before 9/5 but then hope it doesnt take long to get on the boat.
