Offline | IIRC, the week numbers can be calculated in different ways. Week 1 can either be the first FULL week of the year, or it can be the week in which Jan 1 falls (meaning that week 1 actually starts in Dec). We don't really use week numbers in the US, so I'm not too familiar with the method used in this case. I would guess that you do have a Dec production date as the 3-spoke wheel isn't scheduled to be implemented until Dec. Also, I got my VIN today!! Anyone know how long it takes before you can see which ship your mini will be on? Rob |

| Whatev. | Something feels very wrong with the information I was given though as the week I was given seems to be the first week of December even though the computer at my dealer clearly said November. The fellow that "helped" me didn't seem to have much of a clue(BMW Salesman) - he had not heard of the 3 spoke steering wheel and he said "week 49, your car will be made next week" You might have it before Christmas - even though every other bit of information I have been given points to the end of January. I think I would prefer not to know. ![]() |

| Whatev. | Posted at the same time as you minkat. The three spoke business was more my assumption going on the week 49 stuff. I think I will just crawl under a rock for the next three months and try not to think about it. Being told that I am week 49 AND November has me totally confused. bah humbug. However long it takes it will be worth the wait. ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Woo hoo! Didn't think it would have changed over the weekend, but I checked the status on Sunday anyway... and now I'm scheduled for production, with a VIN #. The EPD is still 11/14, so hopefully everything will fall right in line. Thank goodness I have the MINI2 forums to keep me occupied during the next two months. -Nick |

Offline | Hey, Nick, thanks for your post. I decided to take "one more" look and low and behold - my MINI is right on par with yours! Maybe they'll be cabin mates crossing "the pond" in early December? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Sounds like a plan to me! Also, a random question for anyone who might have an answer. I think I've seen someone mention (on MINI2 or elsewhere) about where the car was in the production process, such as in the paint shop. Is this something that shows up on the OL site, or did I imagine reading that? -Nick |

Offline | ok, here's something that makes no sense at all. Just called Mini and my car is in the paint shop (hooray) with an EPD of Oct. 31 (huh?). I'm thinking it's probably actually in the paint shop but obviously the EPD is wrong? What do they do, randomly assign an EPD? Sometimes it seems that way... ![]() '04 EB/W MCS, AC, H/K stereo, Lapis/Black leather...arrived Dec. 26!! |

Offline | Mini has clearly (and repeatedly) stated that the EPD is the Friday of the week during which the car will *probably be built*. So it has a +/- one-week resolution, rather than a daily resolution. I think we're all expecting a little too much of the tracking system. It's supposed to be a general guide to progress of the car, not a day-to-day tracking tool. When a car is 4-6 weeks from the dealership and subject to +/- variations of weeks due to transportation variables, accurate day-to-day info at this stage is useless precision. - Mark Last edited by markjenn : Nov 3rd, 2003 at 06:10 PM. |

Offline | yes, I think I'm getting a little too obsessed with tracking my mini...almost wish you couldn't track and then all of the sudden they call and tell you, "your Mini is here!". Almost. But I'll be laying off a little from now on. '04 EB/W MCS, AC, H/K stereo, Lapis/Black leather...arrived Dec. 26!! |

Offline | I'm with you, PainterJane... After weeks checking the Owner's Lounge pretty much hourly... I just want to be told when to pick up my Cooper. That said, I did find out today that my MINI is in the paintshop ... and like yours it's due to be out of the paintshop on Oct. 31?!? I'm guessing my Nov. 7 production date will stay true, considering I anticipate production will be completed some time this week. Then I get to mess around on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site to track the trip across the ocean! |

Offline | SUHWEEEET!!! ![]() I just called the automated thingie again and today I went from an EPD of Nov 14 to "Your vehicle is In Production with an estimated completion date of 11/3" Woohoo! Today is 11/4 so I wonder what's going to happen next? The owner's lounge still says On Order with an EPD of 11/14. weird. |

Offline | Great news! I called the MINI customer service line and they told me my Cooper is out of production and has been released for distribution. So essentially, it's waiting to be taken to the port of Southampton for the long trip across the ocean. I couldn't be more excited... it won't be long now! For the record, my official production date is 11/4... which is about what I expected considering my EPD on the website was always listed as 11/7. For those in the States with an 11/7 EPD, call MINI and hopefully you'll get similar good news! |

Offline | congrats! I had the same thing happen this morning! Called up and found out mine had completed production and was now released for distribution (which just happened this morning, apparently). I am SO excited now, especially knowing that my little car is all ready for me (somewhere). '04 EB/W MCS, AC, H/K stereo, Lapis/Black leather...arrived Dec. 26!! |

Offline | I know everyone's thrilled to get hourly status reports on the progress of my Cooper... But I just learned from the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site that my MINI is booked on the "Madame Butterfly" out of Southampton... due to arrive in New York on 11/20. Do I have any shipmates? Check for yourselves here: http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking and hit 'track by Auto' and enter your VIN. |
