I just found out from East Bay mini that I am now part of the January build.... and it sounded like late January. It all seems so strange. Almost as if they (mini/BMW) don't want to sell Coopers on the west coast. I am sure my old truck is like your car, barely holding on. -I even thought about nixing the whole thing, but couldn't come up with a repalcement car that I wouldn't regret. Oh well. Keep waiting.
Hi, headswami!
I ordered from East Bay MINI, too! It's very frustrating, especially when I read about other people on this forum who are ordering later than us, and recieving their cars much earlier. Did you order a Cooper, or a Cooper S? when did you place your order?
Are you definately on the January Build? I'm hoping I make it - if they get anywhere near an "average" allotment for January, I'll be in. Otherwise, I may have to wait yet another month.
Guess all we can do is wait it out together. Nice meeting you, and I'm sure we'll be corresponding on a regular basis for a while!
I ordered a Cooper 5 speed in the middle of September. I stopped by the dealership last weekend to get the latest skinny on January and just to look at other Minis. I found out that have been allocated about 8 coopers for November, and 8 more for Dec., hence why we have to continue waiting. There "normal" allocation had been in the low 20's. If they get over at least 18 then I am in for January. Fingers crossed. I sent an email to miniusa asking politely to allocate 18, unfortunately they could not promise this but said they would send some swag to tidy me over. Nice gesture I thought. Send good vibes to miniusa-
Headswami-
fingers are crossed, and I'm sending lots of good vibes to miniusa for both of us. My understanding is that I'm number 13 on the waiting list. if they get anywhere near a "normal" allocation, we'll (hopefully) both be in!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'm in the Jan build!!!!!!!! I should have my production number by Wed of next week... I just have to make a decision on the color by Monday *sigh*
I am leaning toward the IB/W but the wife likes DS/B better... thinks it is more classy and "James Bondish". I have never seen that color up close so I am going to the dealer today to look at it...Oh and I was told my order goes in TODAY!
