My MINI is sailing right now, so i have some spare time :P

I went to http://www.vin-check.net/ and looked up my VIN and it says that the country of origin is "Germany" ... what gives? I'm going to be disappointed if my car didn't get built in the fancypants new factory so lauded on the website!

it's made in England (only place MINI's come from), but owned by a German company

I was looking at my window sticker today while drooling over my mini sitting at the dealer not being able to be picked up till tuesday, and i noticed the following as part of the specs...

Final Build - Oxford, UK
Engine - Built In Brazil
Transmision - Built In Germany

Pretty cool.
