I dont know if it matters to everyone but when I was at the dealership, I did hear that the online tracking was a bit wonky this month, they said the have recieved cars that are still listed as en route. So it may just be a bad time to be tracking our cars, unfortunately.

So, I've read through the site, and the FAQ and DIY section and it says to read through the MINI manual before you get your car, so I have, but has anyone mentioned the fact that it says "Do not let the engine warm up with the vehicle at a standstill. Move off immediately at a moderate engine speed." (Page 41) So is that true? cause that my suck a little in the wintertime.

Ireland Bloody Insurance......

My Dealer has just told me that my MCS will be ready for collection on thursday ( I ordered it on 1st March), so i decided to ring my insurance broker to tell him to move my insurance from my Golf to the S. But i was told that i cant change the car untill my renewal date which is the 9th of May !!! thats 19 days with out insurance !!. Im in Dublin but my broker has me insured through Loyd's of London Bank and they said they wont insure me cause im under 28 and have a mini !!!

I only need cover for 19 days and then i can go to a different insurance company !!!

so if i collect the car on thursday it will be sitting in my driveway for 19 days without insurance , how crap is that

Bummer!

Christina,

Have you checked the WW website lately? They pushed back the New York dock date for Hual Triton from 04/21 to 04/23 Weather is nice here but must be crappy out at Sea..
I sure hope Blitzen and your MINI are not getting sea sick and being bounced around too much.. Most of all I hope it gets to my dealer in time to pick up at least by 05/01... I have plans with the MINI that day..

Craig

I am hoping that Blitzen made the switch, too... Anyone else on the Hual Triton?

Cheers,
Christina

Hi, Craig -

Yes, I was thinking of you when I read of the delay... bummer! But hopefully it won't be any later than the 23rd when they reach NY. I'll keep my fingers crossed regarding Blitzen reaching you in plenty of time for the 1st!

Cheers,
Christina

This is true for all modern engines. It's better to drive it to get the oil moving through the engine.

Yep. What he said. Never heard a truer word chief.

All that lovely oil just sitting in a gloppy pool in the sump just as your choke is washing the walls nice and clean.

Mmmmmmmm bad.

Best to get things moving as soon as possible.

What, do I have to post them on every thread? I could be up all night!

Wait... I usually do that anyway.

OK, I'm putting some into my gallery right now.

hey thanks Puck and Shanemrc, I am just used to running outside in the snow, after my AM shower, starting up the car and running back in till after breakfast, I guess no more of that... Glad I dont have a remote start (In my current 1996 Buick) only about 12 hours till I pick up my MINI :-) (Wednesday Afternoon)
