Yes MinEman, I ordered on 6th March and it is currently awaiting transport (Should arrive at dealer by 5/5/04. I think what happens in the U.S. is that the dealers order what they anticipate they will sell. For example, a certain amount of CR's, IB's, LY's etc. They get slots in the production line allocated and then when it is ordered they change the order to match the customer's needs. (Just a guess, but when I was ordering my IB, I noticed the MA had a list of cars on the screen with the description of the cars: some green, some red, and some black. He clicked on a black description and modified the order, adding space cloth and HK audio.)

...just a thought... Still doesn't make sense that you have waited so long. Even the rep at the customer service number in the states told me that there was a bried shutdown due to model changeover for the cabrio but still was only taking 3-7 weeks for production.

I actually think that it's only a miniusa thing... it would make sense for miniusa not to want to pay to maintain and update their website for other MINI nations... But hey, keep trying and talk to your dealer - maybe there is a way!

Yep, 7 digits is right. I thought maybe they just looked it up in the main MINI/BMW database (they are one and the same), but apparently that's not the case, which I guess I should have known since OL is so slow to update.

Oh, well, it was worth a try.

Things to do while I wait for my LY/MCS currently "Schedule for Production"

Make a "Mini Soundtrack" with iTunes playlists and burn CDs
Plan routes for pleasure trips, lunch outings, etc...
Twiddle my thumbs while the (useless) animation loads at the Owners Lounge when I check for the 30th time in a day
Get ready with cleaning supplies!
Train the children (almost 4 & 6 yrs old) about the rules of the new car -- no shoes on seats, no climbing on bonnet, etc...
Plan route on funnest road possible for speedy trip with said kids in car
Make more iTunes playlists for fun trips in car
Further strategize on this "Mini Soundtrack"
Come up with a name for my LY/MCS and field them on the boards
Wait in agony while I dream at night about driving a new Mini

My MCS (as yet unnamed... still plenty of time for that!) is in exactly the same spot, hanging out with Blitzen, booked on the Jingu Maru, on voyage EQ415-JGM... Here's to our MINIs getting on that boat promptly next Wednesday!

Just a few more weeks now!!!

Yep, nevermind, looking at the date of production etc isn't going to make the car get here any quicker ... but it would be pretty cool knowing where its at.

Hi, tridome... I know the times can always vary, but my car was just in the paint shop on Tuesday of this week, and as of today it's at the port at Southampton waiting to get on the boat! It seems to be only 2-3 days from paint shop to completion. (Nice choice of paint colours, by the way!

Won't be long now until it sets sail for you... happy waiting!

New to the Mini2 Forums. My Dealer told me to check it out. My Blk/Blk MCS has been at the dock in Southhampton since 4/6 destination South Carolina. Anybody else got a loved one on the Independence?

You bet Astropup.. my IB/W S has been there since the 6th as well. I bet we were right next to each other in the assembly line. It's booked on the Independence as well.

Wow ScottyB, mine actually was scheduled to do the same thing (my birthday is April 6)! Then it was finished all of a sudden before the end of March. No complaints here, just thought that would have been hella cool... so enjoy sharing your birthday
