Offline | Owners lounge? I am tring to see my car on the owner lounge, but it still says it is on order, and it is not even the right car. If I call the 800 number everything is OK but the web site is not up to date. Does anyone else have the same proplems as me. I also go the VIN form the dealer but the website tells me that it does not exsist. I am very confused. ![]() |

| I love my mini | The website is real slow in updating and Ask Mini has the most up to date information. If the spec is wrong on the owner's lounge I would contact your dealer. I know that they recycle the production numbers, but it doesn't make sense that it would say on order. When I first got my production number it told me it was black (mine is blue), but a few days later it had the right spec. Your VIN will get updated on the website eventually. I didn't have mine until production was completed. Eventually you will also get a delivery date. Mine updated while my mini was crossing the Atlantic. Coming soon to a road near you! IB/W, chrome bumper inserts, premium & cold weather packages, sport seats, DSC, spoiler! |

Offline | shame It's ashame the system does not work as the dealer talks about it working. Whe they explain it, it seems like a very neat thing to be able to track your car through production. The website is not even close, and my car is in production. If I call the number all they tell you is the car is in production, no other information. I would have been happier if the dealer told me nothing about the system and I just knew the car would be here around ___. Sorry about the complaining, I have been having a bad day. |

Offline | conedodger -- I would ignore the Owner's Lounge for now. It's pretty much useless for any real information UNTIL your MINI has hit the States. Then, it will give you an actual EDD (estimated delivery date). In the meantime, you can call Ask MINI, and the computer can give you up to date information. (Or you can also ask to speak with a representative if you want even more detailed information, which they may have.) And then, once your MINI has completed production, you can track it across the ocean if you wish! Check out the FAQ section of this forum for information on how to find out what ship your MINI is on and how to track its progress: http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...q_faq_how_long Depending on how obsessive you are, this can be fun -- or excruciating. You can also pass the time by reading posts in the Production Group Thread for your MINI (March or April?) from other similarly situated owners to be. And don't forget about the New Owners Thread! http://www.mini2.com/forum/general-discussion/50615-neverending-owners-thread-f-k-new-owners-thread.html That's where we "new owners" trade advice and questions as we get to know our new MINIs. Have fun! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

| [MINI ADDICT] | For what it's worth, when I spoke with my dealer last night, they said that the website is only updated ~1 time per week. A lot of things could go on before you got an update... of course you could just do like I do - put my dealer on speed dial and chat it up... make a friend or two - I have :-) Just a few more days... unbearable... ![]() Marian arrives in Port Hueneme, CA ---> April 30, 2004 Should I meet her there? |

Offline | The website was NEVER updated for my car. It made me very nervous during the entire gestational period seeing the wrong specs. I called my dealer twice to double check on things. The info they had from BMW North America for my car was correct, however, and the car was delivered as I had ordered it. (Well, I have yet to crawl under it to check on part numbers to make sure that I got the SS+ that I ordered....I guess I'm just a suspicious fellow!) It is too bad that this much-touted feature of the MINI buying experience can't be made to work better. |

Offline | My dealer described the website as being "for entertainment purposes only." I pointed out that the site itself claims to be factual, but of course the dealers have no control over it. At least I have been lucky in that my dealer is always ready to help any time I need him to. |

| on a three hour tour | Turns out the website was right and my MA was wrong. Her sales manager re-built the car for another customer without telling her (or anyway they had some kind of communication problem). So now that's all straightened out and the website has my new production number--still as Dark Silver. Ask Mini has it right though, if I talk to a person. The recording says my car is in transit, which is funny since it's not built yet. Seems like they should be able to hook up them thar computer things to talk to each other like civilised human be-ans. |

Offline | I agree with you, shanemcr. FWIW, I got the impression that my dealer was frustrated with the site too, but didn't want to come out and say something blatantly negative about it. |
