The delays I'm experiencing with my car at the moment have led me to wonder what experience have most others had with the accuuracy of their delivery dates?
I know the US has the Owners Lounge, but the UK, Ireland and Eurpoe in general doesn't have access to that system.
Just for curiositys sake, please vote, and post here if there were any good or bad points to the delivery experience..........
We could have had ours a month early Aiden, but we waited until 1st March Steve travelled to Edinburgh to collect it and it was a smooth, enjoyable experience
All being well, I should be able to enter my vote within the next couple of weeks!
When I placed my order on the 28th of February, I was told six to eight weeks. Well, this next weekend will be eight weeks. The Owners Lounge shows an expected delivery date of next Monday. My car was not berthed on the vessel originally booked, but left five days later. Arrival in New Jersey was two days later than expected, which is strange since, by folliowing its journey across the pond, it was off the US East Coast ahead of schedule.
Now the dealership is guessing it'll be more probably early May when I get my grubby paws on him.
So, assuming that that is true, it will be a total of around nine weeks from placing the order to taking delivery of Alice.
AND THESE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS ARE MAKING ME ANXIOUS!

Ordered on October 18th, was told it would be "about 4 months," and I took delivery on February 12th, 2004. It was right on track every step of the way... of course, the wait was still painful!
Bummer about your delays; hope it gets sorted soon... but don't cancel (unless the car is messed up)! After all that waiting....
It seems to be a distribution problem thats delaying my car........just polling to see if it has affected any others in a similiar way, see if there is a pattern at Thorne.
Ordered late Feb (24th) and was told mid to late April I drove off in Ghillie on the 7th of April... 1 to 3 weeks early. if not for problems with BMW/MINI transport out of the VDC in NJ I would have had it a week earlier

Hmm...to be on time my car would have had to show up by 4/4, and I still don't have it....I am getting really tired of hearing "just a few more days" although to my dealer's credit they haven't hung up on me yet....I really hope it will be worth the wait (order originally placed in August 2003).
EDIT: That sounds so negative. Part of it is also that I am an impatient person who found a forum to blow off steam. Thanks for listening!
Ordered March 24th, getting it tomorrow. Sooner than I honestly expected it, but pretty close to the guessed date (providing nothing went wrong).
Only gripe? The fact that I was provided a fair amount of information, but the info was inaccurate. It happened to overestimate the time, which was good, but it still made me doubt whether any of it was true.
i month later than quoted date. i was told that production date was the delivery date. a fine cockup by the dealer. When it arrived at the dealers later they held it for a week as they werent ready to prep. then insurance buggered up by a week during the pre christmas post rush. so i eventually got my MINI a grand total of 2 months later than the dealer originally said. no compo, just annoyance on my part.
Mine was on time to the day as well. I was a bit nervous about it at first because it seemed to be at a stand still, not scheduled for production and such for sooo long. Then bang ... it went quickly and smoothly.
My MA had quoted me 6-8 weeks. Mr. Q was available for pickup on that 8th week. I had to wait til number 9 to get him though.
I don't drive too fast ... you just look too slow! We're not lost ... this is the scenic route
Just made my vote as now Alice is indeed late with no updated ETA available either online, via 866-ask-mini (it now thinks my car is back in Soton awaiting a shipping berth), or from my dealer.
Original estimate was six to eight weeks, the eighth week being met last Saturday. OL shows the expected delivery date to be this past Monday, and apparently the car's been in NJ VDC since the 17th (eleven days now and counting).
No doubt it'll arrive here eventually, but I am no longer setting any expectations.
Not exactly happy either...

From the time I placed my first deposit Aug 2003, I was told about 8 months. Received it in April 2004. After I received it, MA informed me that they where are 11 to 12 months now.
