Odometer Reading? - MINI2

Many years in the car biz gets me thinking about weird stuff like this (plus seeing pics of the Oxnard VDC.) So now I'm curious about how many miles are racked up between assembly, shipping, prep, and delivery of the average MINI, factory to consumer So......

What was your odometer reading the instant U took delivery of your new MINI? Less than 1 mile? More? A lot more??

what truly overwhelming responses (but tks JFS). Guess no one cared aboot how many miles delivery and prep added to their brand new cars.

Mine has 12. Low teens are considered normal, and anything above 20 I'd be suspicious. If your car has more miles it probably means something was wrong and they had to test it out to make sure it was fixed. But it should be fine as I read somewhere MINIs are limited to 25 mph so your engine should be fine even w/ abnormal mileage.

I picked mine up on Thursday, 10 miles on the odo when I first saw it.

Mine had 70km but I took it for a wee test drive (maybe 15 km?)....seems a bit high! must be further to drive down the ships gang plank!

5.5 miles on my BRG/BRG MC.

I'd have to pull the paperwork out to be sure, but I think it was 7 or 9 miles.

The odometer has between 2 and 4 miles on it before it's installed (to make sure its working) and the the other miles are from driving it off the line, a quick road test and on and off the transport.
