| aaaaaalright | How long did it take to get a date to be scheduled for production? How long after you get your production number do you get a date for the car to be scheduled for production. I got my number a few days after I put my order at the begining of August and I still have not seen any scheduled date for production in the owners lounge. Is this normal or is there a problem already? "Those Griffin boys better grow some wings, or start flapin their arms." Last edited by dave316 : Aug 19th, 2004 at 06:30 PM. |

Offline | My 04 MCS was March Production ... my group felt I was rather fast tracked. But I like to think it jsut kept moving along because I didn't check up on it very much. I never had a production start date ahead of time. 3 weeks into my process, it just "was." here was timeline: 2/14/04 - ordered 2/15 - minor change to order 2/16 - received production number via e-mail; Status: scheduled for production, with no production date 3/6 - production started, scheduled end date 3/14 3/13 - awaiting transportation 3/17 - loaded on vessel 4/1 - arrived at Charleston VDC 4/7 - arrived at Dealer in Atlanta 4/16 - Mr Q was Mine I don't drive too fast ... you just look too slow! We're not lost ... this is the scenic route ![]() Mr. Q's blog |

Offline | I'm interested to know also!! Dave316 - thanks for posting this question, as I'm VERY anxiously waiting for my production date as well. BobbySueZQ - thanks for the timeline...as it gives me some concrete dates. I'm still curious to see what others say, since the dates can very quite a bit I'm sure. I received my Production # on the 16th, and still have not received the Production Date. I'm checking ol.miniusa.com at least 4 times a day "hoping" that it'll change - but nothing has. I'm in bad shape, since I'm only 1 week into the order and I'm already this impatient Can any other owners help out with Dave316's original question???? Thanks, Gary |

Offline | I ordered mine aug12th. Got PD# same day. Checked MINIUSA often. Always on ORDER. Aug 20th called the MINI # 1-866-275-6464. It said I was Scheduled for production, no date. I then called my MA and he checked somewhere else. In a few minutes he verified the scheduled for production, and had a date, between Aug5 and 11... I think the MA has a better link. He or she might be worth calling. ![]() |

Offline | Call 866-ASK-MINI... My timeline: 05/22 - Ordered 05/24 - Recieve prod. #, w/ no date 06/01 - Start prod. 06/10 - Awaiting transport 06/18 - Loaded on vessel 07/10 - Docked at Oxnard, CA 07/23 - Driving my baby... The wait is hard, i know... it will be the hardest when its in the VPC/VDC cuz when the MINI is in there neither ASK MINI nor ur dealer can give u a specific date and status of ur MINI... but the wait is so worth it tho... 2004 MINI CooperCatch me if you can ![]() |

Offline | A bit more than a month.... I ordered July 10th, and it was not until Aug 12 that my status changed to production. On Aug. 22, I shifted to awaiting transport. I'm hoping by mid September to be showing Max the New World. Though wildly opptimistic, maybe the car will be last one to be put on the boat, first one to roll off, and therefore 1st to pass the VDC checks! It is sadly tropical storm season now so let's hope no 'canes blowing in the Atlantic the next few weeks! Seems wait times differ wildly, maybe a car goes quickly into production and transport, then gets stuck at the VDC. The FAQ said a few days up to several weeks once it arrives to the US- for what reason, I've no idea. Not sure what the records are, for fastest and slowest delivery. Two months looks to be the average. Yes, it is a long time! Might be a good time to read novels or play chess or sleep, I'm trying them all. After a while it's tough to keep thinking about cars!
