Ship departed yesterday, loaded on vessel today?

Hi,
If you're not too annoyed to help yet another frazzled person tracking their MINI, can someone please tell me what this means? My car was due to ship out on the Figaro, departing Southampton 12/30. According to the schedule, the Figaro did leave Southampton on 12/30, yet it says my car was loaded on vessel on 12/31, and it still has the Figaro and same Voyage number listed. So, if the Figaro left on 12/30, how can I find out which vessel my car was loaded onto on 12/31? The only reason I'm hyper about this is because I already sold my car and I'm relying on my dear sweet husband to drive me all over the place which is growing old quickly.

You should just "borrow" his car until MINI arrives. Make him walk, lol.

Seriously, have you tried tracking your car using your VIN on the WW site? That will give you the clearest picture of where your car is.

Good luck and enjoy your new MINI.

Borrow his car? I don't believe that that is an option

Yes, I did track my VIN at the WW site and that's where it told me my car was "loaded on vessel" on 12/31. It also tells me my car was to be on the Figaro and the voyage #, but that voyage says it departed a day before my car was loaded. So, at this point, I have no idea if my car was loaded on another vessel, or if the schedule information is wrong and the Figaro left on the the 31st. I guess the information will be updated in a few days. Meanwhile, I'll continue be have my personal chauffeur........

I hope WW gets their info sorted out for you. Having just gone thru the process a few weeks ago myself, I know how frustrating it can be. At one point, I had WW say the car was delivered to NY, Mini's owners lounge said she was at sea, and the 1-866-ASK-MINI had her in Southampton waiting for a ship.

Just guessing, but i'd say your car is probably on the ship - perhaps the records of the cars loaded where just entered a day later.

Good luck -- hopefully somebody else at MINI2 can be more helpful.

I hope you're right! I'm sure it will be sorted out in a few days. Thank you both for replying.

I would check the interior closely for moisture after it arrives...

I was able to check another link from the Mini Owner's Lounge which gave information on departing ships from Southampton, and I happily read that the Figaro did leave on 12/31 instead of 12/30 which means my little MC is most likely on it's way home

Congratulations!

Now that you know she's at sea you can follow it across the pond on the following site:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html

Punch in the Figaro's call sign (S6PI) and you can see exactly where it's at. As of 1:00pm EST it appears to be about 425 miles out.

Thank you for the link and the call sign, chs4! How cool is that? It does make the wait easier, being able to see where she is whenever I want.

chs4, I just looked at your gallery. My MC is also PW/B with anthracite dash! I compliment your taste....very nice.

It makes the wait easier, until it gets to shore and vanishes...

And PW/B/anthracite is a very nice combo. Good choice

Vanishes, eh? We shall see! Meanwhile, the OL still says the car is awaiting transport, so I do hope I'm right about it being on the Figaro.

And yes, I see we both have very good taste

I had the same confusion in getting off the boat. I poated the following on the December production thread (although I really wan't that worried about being wet):

Does anyone know what this means? This is the report on the cargo tracking of my mini from the Wallhenious Wlhelmsen web site. In particular it says discharged on 12/30 at 13:30 then loaded on vessel same day at 14:04 so what is that?

LOADED ON VESSEL CHARLESTON,SC 30/12/2004 14:04
DISCHARGED CHARLESTON,SC 30/12/2004 13:30
LOADED ON VESSEL SOUTHAMPTON 16/12/2004 13:47
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 06/12/2004 13:35
READY TO SCAN AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 06/12/2004 08:26
BOOKED SOUTHAMPTON 23/11/2004 11:27

And then here is the voyage details:

SOUTHAMPTON UNITED KINGDOM 16/12/2004 16/12/2004
BRUNSWICK, GA U.S.A. 27/12/2004 28/12/2004
CHARLESTON,SC U.S.A. 28/12/2004 29/12/2004
BALTIMORE, MD U.S.A. 31/12/2004 02/01/2005

The voyage shows that the ship left Charleston on 12/29 but according to the tracking details it was discharged on 12/30 - what did they throw my mini overboard between Charleston and Baltimore?

I'm trying very hard not to obsess too much over what is posted on the WW and Owner's Lounge sites (although I still check them everyday ). I'm trying to just rely on what my MA told me the last time I was there, which is that my car should arrive in NJ port on 1/7/05 (although now the WW site says 1/8/05...but I'm not obsessing ). Many nice people have posted here that they already had their MINI's while the tracking sites said they were still enroute. So, that helps.

So, stephenjc, do you have your MINI?

Rennie:

No, Don't have it yet. Although two others who were on the same boat as mine say theirs are at their dealers. But both of those dealers are closer to the port than mine is. If not for the fact that right now we are in the middle of a big snowstorm, I would have called my dealer today to see if its in. I guess knowing that it would be very difficult for me to get it today, I just didn't want to know. I suspect that it is in although there are a few options that they will need to install so they will need to keep it a day or two.
