Offline | Yes, I can't believe it! All that worrying I did...for nothing! It looks like there are at least three of us on the same K-Line boat, which is cool! Unless something changes, my pickup date should be Apr 16th. I hope so because I can't pick it up on the 23rd. Are you still looking at a 16th pickup date for your MINI too?Congratulations on the MB monkeynet! Now if we can just find Ken and a few others a boat, we'll all be set! You know, this will be an interesting thread for us to all come back and read in a few months. But then again, who will have time - we will all be out motoring in our new MINIs. Yippee! ![]() I'll be thinking about those driving songs and drop by that thread during lunch. That's a cool idea - must have a motoring CD. Have a great day everyone! Debbie |

Offline | Well, it's been a week since I last called ASK MINI. I just called and they told me that Obie is in the body shop and should be completed by 4/1. He should be here at the end of April or beginning of May depending on how long he has to wait for a ship. Zip |

| MINI2 Regular | Hi March folks, just found out my MINI is in the paint shop and should be completed 3/30. I'm ordering a PW/B MC, anthracite dash and headliner with red tartan seats. Erikv., did you speak to someone live at ASK-MINI to receive your late April/early May arrival info? What part of the country do you live in? I'm on the west coast--San Francisco. My MA had told me to expect the car in June but looks like it's all happening much quicker. Gosh, got to talk to my landlord about renting garage space! Got to sell the old '91 Civic. Aprilwhine, I grew up in Williamsburg, VA, not far from you. Are there lots of MINIs out there? Here in San Francisco, you can find three in a three block radius. MINIs are almost passe, but not quite! I'm certainly the first of my friends to own one. |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | There are a lot of MINIs here, mainly because the dealer per capita. Take a look at the ISpy thread in the Mid Atlantic forum to get an idea. The dealers here for the most part sell at MSRP. You have a lot of dealers around the Bay area, but I think there is only one selling at MSRP. Does Niello in Sacramento still add $10k bump to the price? ![]() Global Moderator |

| MINI2 Regular | Aprilwhine, Yes, I see there are lots of folks out your way! Don't know about the dealer in Sacto., but everything is nuts out here where prices are concerned. It's not just a MINI dealer thing. Don't ask what I'll be paying for my precious garage space here in the heart of the city . . . But I love it in the Bay Area, and am very happy that my MINI is on the way! |

Offline | I wonder if Mini will ship all my car to in parts fedex style so I can just get it sooner and put it together myself. Theres only like 5 or 6 parts in a mini right? THIS WAIT IS KILLING ME. If the madame butterfly hits the shore on the 8th then hopefully I will get my mini by the 15th of april which would be wonderful. |

Offline | Gee, this sounds familiar, doesn't it guys? I think I had mentioned going after it with a Ski-Doo and dpacker said something about a hump-backed whale to help things along. This is funny stuff if you think about it. ahhh, the patience we develop. (I can say that now that my Mini is 4 days into it's sea-journey) ![]() |

Offline | I worked with Rachel and she gave me also floor mats. I remember she said something like she would give to all MINI buyers. And she gave a reasonable price for installation of the armrest. She was very helpful. We wanted the chrome grill, but mirror caps in body color. She suggested to go with the Chrome Exterior and they would take care of the mirror caps. Either exchange or paint them. That saved us about $85. |

Offline | Can I get nosey and ask what they want for the armrest installed? (we should have had the done at the factory but for some reason, didn't get it OR the spoiler which we are now having them install) We thought they did us pretty good for installing the spoiler (and purchase there too) I think that ran us 350 total. (much cheaper if we would have had it done in the FIRST place though, huh?) Oh well, we have 20/20 hindsight here. ![]() |

Offline | Claudia... Wow! You're lucky on the mirror cap thing. I, too, am not so keen on the chrome mirrors, but was never offered the option of getting them exchanged for free. I guess they will be keeping your chrome ones, right? 'Course it's bit more complicated w/me, 'cos my hubby loves the chrome mirrors, but I fear they are just too much perhaps w/my BEP/PH w/white Cooper. So...the mgr probably heard us being 'mixed' on it & hence, didn't begin to consider offering us a deal (since it wasn't like it was completely unacceptable to us.) On top of that, I'm just getting a reg. Cooper & you a S, so they might be more willing to give breaks to S purchasers. ;-) And, lastly, I got the car at MSRP which here in Calif is not that easy to find. (was a special circumstance, however) As a result, they are in no mood for any more 'deals' I think, as they normally charge quite a bit over MSRP. Bummer! I was hoping for white mirrors or checkered ones. They cost about $130, so it seems like you saved a lot MORE than $85 to me, altho' I suppose you could have perhaps sold your chrome ones, too to help pay partly for the others. Any congrats on your new baby! ![]() |

Offline | crosebud.... Just saying hi, as I'm in the Bay Area too. Congrats on your new Mini!! May I ask what color you decided to go with? Don't see it on your spec here. I'm not in the City, so don't see them as much as you, but they are popular, nonetheless, which is certainly understandable! Did you buy from SF Mini? Convenient for you, at least. When is yours expected? Won't be getting mine 'til May sometime....it's at the port now, but just got there. And, so I'm figuring 6 weeks from now perhaps. It's sooo hard to wait. Anyway, your posting jumped out to me, too, since you had rosebud in it...and I happen to be a Rose, too. Congrats to you! -- Rosemary |

Offline | on the way to the port! Hey, Called ASKMINI and spoke to a rep. Aparently my Silver Convertable is "on it's way to the port" not sure how long it takes to get there or if there is room on the MB, but looks like I might make it! Got a Playstation Portable to fill the time. Everyone scoot your MINIs over to make room for him. |

Offline | Bill of Lading That's the pinch isn't it - my MA (MINI North Scottsdale) doesn't have access to the BoL though other owners have said their MA's had no problem. No problem. I thought I could narrow the search field given I have transfer to ship 3/14 and estimated arrival at port 4/10 dates if the range of ships is small - bit of guessing but fun to search & research nonetheless. If I had the info I'd be calling too ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Hi MiniDaze/Rosemary, Yes, I'm buying from Mini of SF. I checked out some of the other dealers but it makes my life *so* much easier buying from a place that's literally walking distance from my house. My MA has been very lowkey and nice--no slick saleman stuff. I'm getting a PW/B MC with red tartan seats, anthracite interior and headliner. I'm kind of psyched about the red seats. I was totally agonizing about choices on things so went down to the Mini dealer in Mountain View just to see more options (they have more cars on the lot than SF). And there was this PW MINI with the interior I've ordered. Never would have thought of the red seats but they look pretty stunning in the PW. Also, I'm ordering the chrome exterior, but my MA is replacing the chrome mirrors with black ones to match my roof. Offered it right off the bat for free. Said, "no problem, we can just pop off the chrome ones, put on black ones when the car arrives." I'm not sure when my car is arriving--sounds like after yours as mine's still in the body shop. Congrats to you, too! I had no idea I'd be getting this excited--and restless! |

Offline | Hi crosebud. Good luck with your MINI production - just a few more days! I grew up near Roanoke, not too far from Williamsburg. There's also another guy (bandrews) in this group that grew up in Roanoke. Small world! I imagine San Francisco is a big difference from Virginia. I've yet to get to visit SF - maybe a good trip to take in the MINI! Wish I weren't scared of earthquakes - it looks like a cool place to live. Being a VA native, does the idea of earthquakes bother you?BTW - your MINI sounds like it's going to look cool. I like the PW/B...and the red interior is cool too. It will pop with the PW! Debbie |

| MINI2 Regular | Debbie, Thanks for your good wishes! Yes, the earthquake situation here in San Francisco can be unnerving. But I suppose you get used to it. I was here for the big one in '89. Oddly enough going through it made me want to stay here, not leave. As other long time Bay Area residents can attest, people really reached out to one another after the quake--the sense of community was powerful, moving. Made me love my city. Still maintain my ties to Virgina, though--family and friends. Yes, you should bring your MINI for a visit here. Lots of fun hills. |
