Offline | Anyone getting the new armrest? I have it ordered, but I'm sure one of you will get it first. If so, I'd love to see some pix of it in one of our "real" cars instead of the pix at Motoringfile. Also your thoughts on it. Thanks Jeff Ulrich |

Offline | On another note - have you guys seen the pictures of the 07 mini at motoringfile.com? I'm not completely sold on the new look - I'd have to see it in person first. Not really thrilled with the new dash - too conventional looking - I like the current look. I thought for 1/2 sec that I should wait since they are updating, but now after seeing the pix I'm glad I already ordered. The other reason I think now is a good time to buy - they (I think) have most of the kinks worked out of the current design - there were some nagging issue with the 02 models and everyone seems to think the 05's have evolved into a better product overall. Seems like taking the plunge on the new update in 07 would possibly give you some of the same growing pains they had when the 02's came out. I'd rather give them a year or two to work out any issues with the new design first. An odd note I read on the Edmunds site said with the change to a turbo and increase in power (although it's not much) - will finally attract more men to the cooper. I'm sorry, did I miss something? Seems to me like there's already a lot of men getting the Cooper S - what are they talking about? The Cooper isn't necessarily a chick car - believe me I know, I've been driving a New Beetle and that definately turned into a chick car - nothing against it, I've loved my bug, but it's just pretty plain to see it's mostly women driving it. Offline | Which one? Dealer-installed or the factory-installed arm rest? At this moment in time these appear to be two distinct beasts. I assume that the factory-installed armrest will at some point make it into the dealer supply chain, but I don't think that that is the case at this moment in time. |

Offline | I think a lot more men buy the cooper s, not the cooper. the cooper is the one that is going to be getting a power increase. the cooper s is going to pretty much stay the same power wise. I am glad that I am getting an 05, minus having to wait 2 or 3 years for the 07, I also agree that the 05 has a lot of the kinks worked out. Also, I have always been a big supercharger fan. I am not that sold on turbocharged whine. I also heard someplace that they were going to release the 07 in Europe first and then the US wouldn't get it till an 08 model. I think this is the same way with the current cooper. It was released in 01 in Europe. Sucks for us but whatever. also in 2 years ill be forking over 35000 a year for tuition so it probably would not have even been choice to buy it then. I am happy right now. Countdown till mini keys in my hand: 20 days. |

Offline | Don't get your hopes up quite yet. I was originally booked for the madame butterfly which left on the 27th and my car was received at port on the 22nd. It did not make it on the ship. There seems to be quite a back log of minis trying to catch a ride to the US, so you may not get on? But lets be optimistic! yes you will get on! |

Offline | I'll 2nd that - let's stay optimistic - but I too was booked on the MB and didn't make it - I'm actually waitlisted on the Resolve and wouldn't be suprised if I don't make that either. You can put in the booking number and it will pull up a list of all the cars on the ship - you can then find your VIN and click on it - that tells you if you're waitlisted - the waitlisted ones have an asterisk by them.
