Offline | I was freaked out... Until I read these posts with the K-line info. I was tracking my Mini on the WW site like others. Mine was received at terminal at 3/23 15:31. I though it would sail on the resolve...but when I checked today, It said no traking info. I saw the K-line info and am hopeful I'm on the Andes highway I feel better now. Now I think I'm in the same boat as Caludia and Btdoyle. Thanks ![]() |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | Since I'm also on the Cypress Trail with a 4/7 delivery date (which will be delayed a little while the JCW is installed) I'm watching the web sites closely today as well. Check the WW site - it shows the NY destination in red. Probably a mistake unless they just slowed down and pushed all the cars into the water. |

Offline | Yep, if your boat is coming to the port at SC it is most likely on the andes highway. You can call askmini, it should say in transit if you are on in. from when your car was recieved at the terminal it looks like you fit into the right time frame. It was kind of nice to find out that I wasnt on the resolve because that means that my mini will be in my hands two days sooner. Days till my mini hits the US: 9 days Days till I should have my mini: 16 days. |

Offline | So apparently, in the two days since being offloaded from the Takasago, my car has cleared the VPC and is released to carrier for transit to my dealer! Woo hoo! I got a nice e-mail from my MA today to set up an appointment for delivery. Since things went this quickly, i'm going to try to take delivery on the 6th (Wednesday) - we'll see if that works out or not, but the odds look good. I'll still have to go out of town right after the MINI arrives, but at least I can drive it to the airport ![]() Ben |

Offline | Hey Ben! That's great news! Wow - your MINI must not have had to wait at the VDC very long before processing. That's cool! If all goes well, mine is expected to be at the dealer on the 11th or 12th, but I really wish it would be more like the 14th because I don't want it sitting there all week until Saturday when I can pick it up! Offline | I fly out of Roanoke, Virginia (ROA). Our airport parking lot is probably smaller than your grocery store's parking lot. Our airport has six gates. (It had seven, but homeland security ate one of them to make more screening area.) I love it to death, it's a fantastic place to fly out of - but it's not somewhere where long term parking is a big security risk for your car ![]() That said, I'm going to have family ride with me to the airport, then I'll have them drive the MINI back home. That way it can be protected while I'm gone Now the Virginia Tech commuter lot - THERE'S a door dingfest! ![]() Ben |

This is GREAT news for those of you coming through South Carolina! ![]() Ben |

Offline | Unbelievable! That's quick. One question though - why aren't you going to get it today?! My boat docks on Monday. If I were to be as lucky, that would mean that I might be able to get mine next weekend, instead of the 16th. I'm trying not to get too excited based on your news [smiling from ear to ear] because I know how my luck is, but it does provide something to look forward to this week. While in college I worked in one of the buildings behind Roanoke Regional Airport. I used to like to sit outside during my breaks at night and watch for planes. Obviously I didn't see as many as I would have had it been say the Charlotte airport, but it was still fun. ![]() Does this make you the first one in the group to get their MINI? We will, of course, want to see lots of pictures! And if you happen to see a LY/B w/ a chrome grille getting pulled off of a truck Wednesday evening when you're there, be sure to let me know. Offline | Yeah, In Transit I am on the Andes Highway with Claudia and bdoyle. Yippe. My MA also e-mailed me today telling me the good news and ASK-Mini says I am in transit. My VIN numbe also failed to now show up on the WW site. I hope we have clear and calm seas. |

Offline | I have a national airport that I love to use in Newburgh, NY. Same deal. Very low key and unhurried. Once, a few years ago, I was on the first flight out at about 6:00 AM and I had to wait.....until they opened the terminal. I love living in the country. Tom |

Offline | All this talk of cars arriving is making me anxious! So I was able to determine that my car is on the "Madame Butterfly"; it left Southampton on 3/27 and will arrive in NY on 4/4. But the destination for the booking says Charleston, CA and 4/9. Why doesn't it unload at NY (it's heading to Chicago, I'm picking it up there - too expensive in Calif.). Anyway, it sounds like they are going through the Charleston VPC very quickly, so hopefully later this month! Thanks, Don |

Offline | I came to the same conclusion, but I was able to purchase from Desert MINI in Las Vegas at MSRP. MINI of Murray (in Salt Lake) will also sell at MSRP with reasonable lead-time. Debbie Linge there is very helpful. I really was appalled when I visited the dealer closest to me (MINI Of Concord) and told them that I was going to buy out of state if they couldn't come down to within shouting range of MSRP. They politely wished me good luck and said to be sure to come to them with any questions or warrantly work/service. They had absolutely no interest in dealing whatsoever. The showroom was like a mausoleum, in the sense that there were people buying cars, but they sure didn't seem happy about it. But then, I wouldn't be happy either if I had to pay the dealer $2499 over MSRP just for the privilege of selling me a car. I guess this is the logical outcome of a quota system and high levels of demand here in the Golden State. If they can sell everything they're allocated, why bother to deal? In case anyone's wondering, yes I spoke to East Bay MINI -- MSRP but a 12 month wait for an MCS. In Southern California there's two MSRP dealers -- South Bay MINI and Long Beach MINI. Long Beach has a 10 month wait for an MCS, South Bay about 4. Desert MINI tried to get my car built in about a week, but it took them another week and a second shot at it to get the options right. Should be less than two weeks before we pick up the car! By the time we get it home we'll be 2/3rds of the way through the break-in period! -- Roger |
