Offline | That's fantastic! You are on the Resolve...right? Charleston is just 5 days behind you guys! The OL just switched to "en route" here too..but with no estimated delivery date..but adding 5 days to yours..that puts me at 4/18....(fingers crossed) |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | Since the MINI uses synthetic oil which has different wear characteristics than petrolium, the recommendation is for oil changes at roughly 10,000 mile intervals, depending upon driving style, number of starts & stops, etc. The service indicator informs you when an oil change is due. Many people feel that this interval is too long and change it more frequently. Last edited by Pamlico : Apr 7th, 2005 at 01:37 PM. |

Offline | I think only the "scheduled" maintenance is for free and MINI, I believe, schedules the oil changes every 10,000 miles. Some people just aren't comfortable with that . I think i'm one of them. Tom |

Offline | Tom is a sexist! Tom is a sexist! (there..that oughtta get things started )I think I'm in a world of hurt here. The Mini is actually the wifes and she is the second coming of Imelda Marcos when it comes to shoes. Also, I'm with you Tom about the oil changes. I expect to halve them for our car. (about 5000 miles or so) Call it old fashioned but I'd feel a lot better about it if I don't wait all 10,000. |

Offline | I'm on the Resolve too. I'm in Texas, so it's coming in via Charleston. Is it me or did the Charleston date just slip by a day? I could have sworn it was due in on the 13th, now the WW site says the 14th. Why can't they be early - that would be preferable ![]() Jeff Ulrich |

Offline | Well, another update to be ambivolent about...OL says that the delivery date went up a day to this saturday. Sounds great but as I recall, my MA said the spoiler they are putting on will take an extra day and since that would be a sunday, I'm guessing monday is the extra day, hence tuesday...which would be nice but she is off that day and we really wanted to deal with her so wednesday? I could be delirious by then. So near and yet so far.... |

| MINI2 Regular | Gosh, I can't believe it, but stuff in my life has actually kept me away from my MINI2 obsession in the last day or so! But wanted to pop back in to say Congrats to Ben! The car looks awesome! I'm impressed with all the accessories people are buying. I've mostly been thinking of MINI gifts for my six year old nephew in the Netherlands. I'm getting him a MINI t-shirt and also this kind of cool toy called the Speedeez Mini Cooper Playset. It's a (red) MINI car which opens up, and inside there's a track with little tiny MINI cars you can race. I think this link will get you to it on Amazon. Looking forward to hearing good news from the rest of you! |

Offline | Deal!! I have some 16D nails here we can tack it on with too. And I even have some finish nails too, to help with streamlining it. (could be worth an extra 5hp) Heck, I'm about ready to build a Mini out of styrofoam just to have one around the house. ![]() |

Offline | You had better by stopping by...you are our source for all good things to come! (ok, not to the point of a Messiah complex, but you get the idea ) BTW, aren't we waiting for more pics here? You wanna get on the ball here bub? Some of us are loving the notion that the Minis are slowly but surely trickling in. On an earlier post I mentioned my delivery date actually got moved up to this saturday so I am guessing most-if not all- of the Chicago Minis will be coming in about then. (I have to wait that extra day for the spoiler since we weren't bright enough to have ordered it from the factory) With any luck, this same time next week will have a boatload (pun not intended) of new Minis to view! Now go put some miles on that thing... |

Offline | Automated madness My car is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme today. I called ASK-MINI to see if it would know whether it had arrived, and was told that it was "At the port awaiting a shipping vessel." Methinks their computer has busted a spring. Since what it said yesterday was that it was en route, and the message has changed (however strangely) I'll choose to believe the "at the port" part and ignore the nonsense. I talked to one of their live bodies, she repeated the mantra that once it leaves the port they have no idea as to the status of the car. I find that to be pretty bizarre, why would MINI have a computer system that can tell them when it's in the paint shop, but not whether the ship carrying the vehicle has arrived at the port? I've been watching the posts about buying accessories -- is anyone getting the mudflaps? I don't understand why MCS's can only get them in the front, but I'm still awfully tempted. Since I have a dark color, mudflaps would probably keep a fresh wash looking fresh a while longer. Any thoughts? And, Ben, we do need more pictures! -- Roger |

Offline | Well don't blame us New Yorkers. The Resolve is leaving here on time. It's staying an extra day in Baltimore. I guess the crew want to get some of those famous crab cakes. Tom (getting hungry. Hmmmm, crab cakes) |
